John Mcdonald
Re: John Mcdonald
Personally the MC'ing role isnt that important to me that it is that concerning. I dont find Mcdonald great but im not fussed to the point id be calling for his head or anything.

Goodall is another who needs to pack it in. Constant mistakes with scorecards it's their job they cannot mess it up.tony1234 wrote:Is Mike Goodall still MC'ing ? I remember when there was a punch up in the crowd and he was trying to stop it . I used to like Mike Shinfield when he was FW's MC when he did the Wednesday night shows on ITV, there was also Alan Hughes who did Matchroom originally, thought he was decent too
Re: John Mcdonald
Goodhall brings the rings with him, puts them us, does the MC'ing then takes them down, another good bloke and great professional.
He certainly used to be one of the busiest in the country, on the road almost every night, doing all the little shows too.

Re: John Mcdonald
As some have mentioned before the Finnish nasty is decent.
What about the suede and brothel creeper old bloke with the Donald Trump syrup. Sounds like he's been hammering the sherry. Old school personified.
McDonald comes in for a lot of stick. The Smith effort was class. His "LIVE" is not my cup of tea or his out of breath "and now, he's here, your champion". The worst has to be the speeded up low mumble of "in the red corner wearing White trunks trimmed with gold"
No one comes close to the UFC buffer (Bruce) who goes ballistic and does a semi spin/jump when screaming his way through an intro.

I don't know how they manage to mess it up anyway, job or no job. How difficult can it be?

I would have thought most of the top US announcers speak relatively fluent Spanish due to the amount of Mexican & Latin American shows/fighters they announce?rossij8 wrote:

Come on, leave him alone. I think he's brilliant to watch and listen to. He certainly puts you in a good mood, he can be comical......
Re: John Mcdonald
I'm suprised we haven't seen the gravel voice of Russ Bray announcing in a Matchroom ring before now.

If he just cut out the fake groaning and growling would be a start, sounds like a dodgy porn star at times
