Anyone honestly believe Soliman vs Taylor was fixed?

Post by bogan whisperer »

I read some idiot trying to claim the Sam Soliman vs Germain Taylor fight was fixed and part of the fix was Soliman pretending he was injured

Does anyone honestly believe that is what took place?

If you do, state your case. Votes suggesting the fight was fixed won't be respected unless you state your case for voting that way.

I saw the fight for what it was and for what 99.99% of the population saw it for. A fight Soliman was very competitive in until he got injured. The commentators had Soliman leading until he got injured andit appears the official cards might have had him leading too.

I just find it amusing someone would go out on a limb and claim the fight was fixed and that Soliman pretended to be injured, and wondered if anyone else shared that truly bizarre opinion. That's what the poll is for.

Some of the claims made on boxing forums are just plain ludicrous. Plainly Soliman suffered a knee injury and it hampered him throughout the second half of the fight.

Soliman paying $5 to win by decision. Christian Ennor refusing to retire Sam even after 4 knockdowns and supposedly having a bad leg and no chance of winning in the latter rounds. No rematch clause in the contract the idiot you refer to may have a point. He didn't seem to upset after the fight either losing the title he fought for nearly 20 years to get. Very interesting, very interesting indeed.
I once read on a forum Green-Tarver was fixed. Now that's ridiculous. :DD

I notice you voted in the poll you think the Soliman vs Taylor fight was FIXED.

You are not making a very good case for such a wild accusation though

Have you any evidence whatsoever? Anything at all?

I was also the only one who voted Taylor to win on points in that thread. The whole thing smells fishy to me my above post is my case.

stiffles has changed his mind 67 times, lol.

he knows it was a legit injury but doesn't want to admit it cause he is worried his troll friends won't think he is cool if he goes against them.

he has no backbone.

World title fight held in the USA under the auspices of the IBF with numerous ringside officials including a medical practitioner, watched by thousands, and not a murmur about the fight being fixed. Not a single murmur. A search of the various boxing news sites and nothing. Not a mention of even the remotest possibility the fight might have been fixed.

Then a guy in the suburbs half a world away watches a replay of the fight on youtube, lets his imagination get the better of him, and claims the fight was fixed - LOL x 100

The answer is in this article before Geale-Golovkin.

AUSTRALIA’S world middleweight champion Sam ``King’’ Soliman says he is knocking back lucrative offers to defend his title so he can focus instead on fighting the winner of the Daniel Geale-Gennady Golovkin fight in New York on July 27 (Australian time).

``I’m getting offers from everywhere,’’ Soliman said.

``I’ve had offers to fight Andy Lee in Ireland, Anthony Mundine in Australia — I’ve had interest from Matthew Macklin and Martin Murray in the UK.

``I’ve been offered plenty of easy fights but I’m 40 now and I only want the really big fights at the end of my career. The biggest fight for me is to unify the world titles against the Geale-Golovkin winner.’’
So he only wants the Geale-Golovkin winner knocking back all these lucrative offers for easy fights to fight Geale-Golovkin winner because he's 40 and wants to unify. Yet chooses a shot Taylor with medical problems brainbleeds etc. and loses flopping around getting knocked down by arm punches. Think for yourselves people don't be sheep.I don't blame him one bit he's 40 he had a offer that matched Loeffler's offer to fight GGG and took it and lost when a huge favourite. Money>legacy to Sam Soliman. :TU:

The answer is in the article you said?

I read the article and there's absolutely no mention or even the slightest suggestion the Soliman vs Taylor fight would be fixed. In fact I can't find mention of it having been fixed anywhere other than from you. You must have seen something on youtube everybody at the fight, including the IBF officials, and the thousands who watched it live and by other means all missed - LOL.

C,mon he said '' Im 40 I only want Geale-Golovkin winner big fights'' and fights and loses to a shot, brain bleed, damaged Taylor. And didn't seem at all upset in fact he was smiling like he just won the lottery. Martin Murray got it right.

Watch Taylor get fed to Quillin(another Al Haymon fighter). Not every dodgy fight is as obvious as Green-Briggs.

to think Sam v jermain was a fix is an insult to Sam and his team and the integrity they have shown throughout his great career. He, unlike most fighetrs, travelled to every corner of the world fighting elite fighters. Several of his fights were controversial and rarely did you ever seem sam upset after a loss - that's just Sam.
His corner wasn't going to pull him out, especially when he was saying he could go on and also if there was no rematch clause. He had to go for broke and that's what he did, on one leg. A win against Taylor, although supposedly shot would've have opened up more lucrative bouts so to say its a fix....for what ?
Its pretty simple, Sam was on his way to a good points decision, got an injury and was getting dropped by punches that would normally not drop him. No fix.

You're very right mate, good post, the amount of money, logically, that would have been needed to pull a fix is way more than the money Sam would have made if he had have won, obviously.

This all started on the fuc head forum from 3-4 imbeciles who have had nothing whatsoever to do with boxing, a bunch of couch potato nerds that think reading about boxing actually makes them a boxer,to even suggest this was rigged is an insult, if you don't feed the trolls they will realise at some stage how stupid they really sound
