Oh! when I said the Real Deal on the Research, I in NO ways meant you guys are not the Real Deal..You all are that FOR SURE as are Henry Hascup and John DiSanto too.... What I meant was maybe someone could either help me on a one to one basis which I would Pay for or lead me in the right direction as I am asking a lot of questions and I know you all have stuff your working on too...
Anyone that can help will get their name in the book and a copy of the book... and copy of his DVD if you want it.
That includes you gentlemen that have already helped me here on this site. We will get to that after we have a publisher and a deal.... Many people that dad knew wanted to do this story.. Clint Eastwood did even though Dad was not happy with the Movie "Bird" even though Forrest Whitaker came to the house and stayed there to learn how Bird moved and talked etc...
Stan always said his father David would say "Don't ask to many questions" lol I think I'm getting close....
THANK YOU

Re: Full fight records not available Why?
You are right, the day-after Buffalo Courier-Express reports a win for Levey. I have corrected the result. Since Levey was listed as being from New York and there is no record of a Sam Levey having fights there, I am wondering if the local promoter got the name of Levey wrong and he was really Joe Levy of Brooklyn. It wouldn't be the first time that an unknown out-of-town fighter was reported under a wrong or misspelled name.
I did check Joe Levey (my youngest son's name) out and I could not find anything on him fighting there that night.... but it would be easy for the refs and announcers to say Sam instead of Stan.... or if Stan just gave them a different name... I still need to know about that World License # I did go to the dictionary here and did not find how it was used and followed up with.??

New Important :) (to Me) Findings on my Grandfather (David) Dave Levy (Levey)
Jan 4 1944 and I have to check but it is an old clip from Philadelphia Evening Bulletin I'll try to post later or tomorrow..
"4 Stablemates in Olympia Bouts"
in short Dave Levy Manager who bought out Jimmy Toppi's interest in the Olympia Club Thursday night Boxing Show
so here are his fighters
1. Dorsey Lay, Philly Lightweight W39-L18-D1-KO17
2. Willie Thomas Philly Heavyweight W9-L13-KO3 draw2
3. Gus Jones Philly Heavyweight W6-L3-KO4
4. Newton Smith Philly Light Heavy W15-L4-KO4 Draw3
Lay and Newton look like they have the best records with Jones and Thomas very respectable records Newton sadly died in a fight on 8-15-47 with Sam Baroudi.....
I'm not really sure how long Dave Managed these guys but he was gone by 49....
color=#FFFF00]*** Also thru the help of a very dear friend up in the mountains who teaches Genealogy Thru the libraries has found as a result of this clip about 9 more articles linking Dad to many comments he made through out the years about Dave Levy Levey etc his father and my grandfather... one was the Bourbon Johnny Walker well he managed Johnny Walker from North Philly.... he was linked to Pedro Tomez and many very very good fighters in my opinion, again based on their Fight records...also it linked Dave to many behind the scene notables such as Herman Taylor again Jimmy Toppi Sr also he is linked to the Garden and many more items of note but I am kind of sorting thru all of this.... I feel I am very close to finding more on Stan Levey Sam Levey or Levy and who knows what other names he used...also he said he had about 9 or more amature bouts.. I really can't remember and won them all... still sifting thru all that... but Stan was not a B.S.er at all about this kind of stuff and now I have found enough on Dave in print to make it come to life for the book and possibly a film... All I need is a break for Stan and I'm ready, along with Frank Hayde the author to put it out there for publishing... We already have a few that want to do it... Hollywood wanted it done yrs ago, again the music NO Prob the Boxing we didn't have any documents on file but we did have a lot of Lore from some very reliable sources but I need facts... I don't want the Fight Game people, researchers, fighters, Old Timers, refs, managers promoters etc asking where is the back up and Stan wouldn't either... Thanks again for your help B.L.
