Boxers popular among hardcore fans

Post by ikorolev »

This poll is intended to rank boxers by popularity among boxrec users. This is not p4p list, resume based list or general popularity list. Please select who you PERSONALLY would pay for to watch (if you were a paying kind anyway).

Select up to 5. Sorry if it is too few or I missed your favorite boxer. Boxrec only allows 10 options in a poll. I did create an Extension poll with some lower weight boxers. Please vote there too.

I know you can only pick 10 to post, but I might add Roman Gonzalez and Rigo and drop Ward, whom everybody seems to uncontrollably hate, and maybe Hopkins. My sense is there are tons of people on this site who have a major woody for Rigo for beating Donaire. Unless the point is to show how much everybody loves GGG (me included) and hates Ward. In that case, I will STFU

I picked Floyd,Manny,Canello and GGG.Though I do want to see GGG move up to 168.
If we as fans kept asking for Manny and Floyd to keep moving up division after division to prove
themselves. We should expect GGG to challenge himself and move up to 168.Only challenge for him.

Manny, Cotto, Golovkin, Kovalev - they give their all and put on a show - they seem to work for their money and are respectful of their fans.

Now that I think about the "pay to watch question," I'd include Gonzalez, Narvaez, Kiko Martinez, Viloria, Naoya Inoue, Yamanaka and several others above many of the names you mention

I went with Golovkin, Froch, Kovalev and Ward. Unlike many, I find Ward compelling to watch.

All of them

some because they are huge names & HOFers, some for skills, some for action

I'd pay to watch all or any of them

If you mean PPV, I never pay for PPV because I don't have sky or anything like that. I stream everything. I PAY for live gates, so obviously the answer for me would be Froch, Golovkin, Kovalev and I voted Hopkins as well because I REALLY wanted him over here when Cleverly was calling him out, just to say I'd seen him.

I'd like to see Floyd and Manny in the flesh even though I'm quite bored by both of them now and really dislike Floyd, but is it true that even the cheap seats at Floyd fights are very expensive? No £30 or £40 seats in the house?

I pay for fights, not fighters. I don't care who it is, if it's a mismatch, I'm not buying.

Guys, don't make it too complicated. Just select up to 4 boxers you would like to watch better than others provided that everything else like level of opposition is about the same.

You didn't specify if it's paying to watch on the screen or watch a live fight in the arena. That is a very important detail.

I mean, to be honest, if it was at Glow in Bluewater I'd pay to see any of them.

I would rather watch dogshit turn from brown to white than pay for a Hopkins or Maywether fight. Unless they're fighting someone with a good chance of beating them.

When voting, assume that they have the same level of opposition.
