Who has the biggest profile in British Boxing at present

Floyd Mayweather is the King of world boxing but who is the King of British boxing in terms of profile.
Here is my British Top ten in profile and why,,
1. Carl Froch. Three box office fights in a row and was just part of the biggest British fight ever
2. David Haye. Former two time champ and is never out of the celebrity life. Everybody knows who the Hayemaker is even if you like him or not.
3. George Groves. At the age of 25 he has already had three fights on box office and was the main reason behind the Wembley fight.
4. Amir Khan. He mainly fights in America but the two weight world champion has always been in the spotlight.
5. Tyson Fury. His channel five fights were watched by the most people and became well known to everybody in the David Haye prefight media stuff even though the fight did not happen.
6. Anthony Joshua. Very new to the scene but is already making big noises in the pro game and is the heavyweight Olympic champion from London. His profile is only getting bigger the more people he knocks out.
7. James De Gale. Not a big ticket seller but most people in Britain know who he is from the Olympics and his fight with George Groves
8. Carl Frampton. He is a superstar in Northern Ireland and would fill any stadium for his fights. his profile is only getting bigger if he keeps performing in the ring.
9. Kell Brook. Current world champion but the fight was in America and has not reached the casuals yet. A fight with Amir and he would be better known.
10. David Price. My last pick is David price as everybody loves a heavyweight and he really got peoples attention when he was knocking everybody out. I still think everybody knows the name David Price and he still has a decent profile.

What do people think of my list and would they change any of them, or are some boxers to high or to low on the list.

Would disagree with Frampton, totally unknown outside Northern Ireland and fighting on allegedly doesn't help his profile. If you asked 100 non boxing fans who he was I doubt you'd get many recognising him.

I'd say very few British boxers have recognition value beyond boxing and sports fans in general.

If all goes well vs Alexander, I think Khan could be back at the top of the list of British Boxers.

I'd say the right 10 are probably there, but I think the actual top 3 (in terms of profile amongst the general public) are:

1. Haye
2. Khan
3. Froch

Groves is far too high, people have quickly forgotten about him. Even mates who went to the second Froch fight barely mention him now.

Fury has worked hard for his profile, he's definitely up nearer the top. It depends on the community you come from too. Frampton is a big name round by where i am due to having a big irish community in the city, i know people that are already saving for his first trip to Vegas!

Joshua is definitely up there simply due to the amount of media he gets.

Take your boxing heads of and think casual public perception for a second....I don't think I'm far off, maybe khan over Joshua...slightly

I Would have to say Anthony Joshua as he is an Olympic Gold Medalist from the London games which was broadcasted on BBC. With Froch second being a World Champion and having done Stepping Out on ITV, Tumble on BBC as well and appearing on Jonathan Ross to promote second Kessler fight.

If its simply about name recognition, i'd bet more non boxing fans in the street would recognise the name Audley Harrison over any other active British fighter today.

I would still have to say Khan,he spends more time in the tabloids than any other UK boxer,usually for playing away more than boxing but thats why your average joe and woman know who he is

But when it comes to talking about boxing to casual fans,its Froch's name who comes up the most along with Mayweather,Pacquiao's popularity seems to be waning with casual fans,purely coz he got KO'D by Marquez,getting KO'd = being shite to a lot of casual fans but after Manny KO'd Hatton,everyone loved him over here not coz he knocked out Ricky more because more people became aware of him and liked his humble personality and explosive style plus Floyd being a prize prick helped people root for Pacquiao

Yeah, probably twenty five and up actually. Below that and the numbers will quickly drop-off I think.

1. Amir Khan - not only huge in the UK but also huge in the US (he's a full on vegas fighter), undoubtedly a household name in the UK.

2. David Haye - he's a media circus and the only HW champion we've had for a long time, been on im a celebrity plus loads of chat shows, media frenzy around the Chisora press conference brawl, well know here and across the pond by celebrities, also very well know in Germany.

3. Audley harrison - huge profile from the Olympics, fought on terrestrial TV, had the big PPV fight with Haye and has been on 2 very high profile reality TV shows

4. Froch - mainly due to his massive boxing profile, also on Tumble on the BBC, massive ticket seller. Not sure my mum would know who he is but the casual sports fan definitely knows who he is and so do the news papers.

6. George Groves - purely off the back of the Froch fights and the huge promotion around them.

5. Tyson Fury - how can anyone miss a 6'9 singing gypsy who's fought on channel 5.

Biggest profile former boxers

1. Frank Bruno

2. Chris Eubank

3. Ricky Hatton

4. Nigel Benn

Although all of them could be moved around into any order.
