GGG fans
Starting to scare me now. Impossible to argue with them as many struggle to see both sides of the story. Don't get me wrong, I believe GGG CAN be P4P no.1 but he isn't yet. I believe he COULD beat Froch but doesn't mean he will. I believe it's also POSSIBLE that he beats Ward but doesn't mean he'll "destroy" him like some seem to think!
He looks to be the real deal, but can we wait till he proves beyond doubt he's the no.1 MW before we start claiming he beats the best in the division above him!? Wins V Quillan & Cotto would prove this. Even demolition jobs of the likes of Korobov, Murray or Andrade/Canelo stepping up would help.

Re: GGG fans
That's true. Nobody knows what the future holds.
Re: GGG fans
If Golovkin didn't beat Froch I'd give up watching boxing. He's a level above. Froch is a hard, hard man but he's just not good enough to beat Golovkin.
Re: GGG fans
I agree GGG is a level above technically but to write Froch off completely against an average size MW is a bit bizarre to me.Ian1973 wrote:If Golovkin didn't beat Froch I'd give up watching boxing. He's a level above. Froch is a hard, hard man but he's just not good enough to beat Golovkin.

floyd fans are the most ludicris.....floyd had 10000000000000 demands and request at pacquaio, yet they still say he doesnt duck pac. when its to damn obvious.
picking ggg as p4p #1 isnt ludicris, dude is a monster.
my personal #1 right now is rigondeaux.
ggg is inside the top 5. he would have problems in a p4p sense, with skilled slick boxers such as ward or lara.

Re: GGG fans
I believe that TripG is the real deal, more for his fundamental acumen than for his power, however, he has yet to really have any defining victories. That's just the fact, at this point. He'll eventually have those battles.
It's the fans of fighters that are the annoyance and causing the frivolous debate. He's going to get to the pinnacle eventually in my opinion. But he's nowhere near it yet.
Why is it some cannot help but to toss Floyd's name into a thread about a totally different fighter, where no one else in the thread had even had a single thought about Floyd?
Floyd's fans are the worst, I swear. Even moreso the fans who hate him.
Haha
Floyd threads are over that way >>>> or you can make your hundredth, if you please.

I think on this forum GGG fans are the most fanatical these days. Floyd & Manny fans were more mfing nutty @.their peak no question, but they've died down in recent years.

Yeah, but I don't see TripG fans hijacking every thread about every other fighter to talk about their defining passion....yet.ReggieDiggs wrote:I think on this forum GGG fans are the most fanatical these days. Give them a minute.I was on another forum this morning and people were picking GGG over Hagler in a fantasyuptconnect wrote:Yeah, but I don't see TripG fans hijacking every thread about every other fighter to talk about their defining passion....yet.ReggieDiggs wrote:I think on this forum GGG fans are the most fanatical these days. Re: GGG fans
Exactly the kind of delusion that's getting scary! So GGG, who beat Macklin, Geale & Rubio, beats Hagler, who beat Hearns and Duran and lost a split to SRL!tiny_acres wrote:Give them a minute.I was on another forum this morning and people were picking GGG over Hagler in a fantasyuptconnect wrote:Yeah, but I don't see TripG fans hijacking every thread about every other fighter to talk about their defining passion....yet.ReggieDiggs wrote:I think on this forum GGG fans are the most fanatical these days. Re: GGG fans
One thing for certain GGG is getting the same response as Mayweather. Once GGG beats someone there no good or were never any good. Same thing with Mayweather. Mayweather fights them beats them they were never any good to begin with. At the least bit this has shown how far GGG has come to be considered a top P4P fighter.
Re: GGG fans
Golovkin is going about things in the right way to prove he is P4P worthy, he keeps busy and impresses every time - I think he would relish getting in with someone with a great resume and reputation - he didn't duck a challenge as an amateur. It is silly to put him above boxers like Floyd who have been champions for so long but Golovkin is putting good men over and out and he has to be one of the most impressive and destructive boxers around.
Re: GGG fans
This isn't in dispute. It's his fans who claim he'd destroy Froch and Ward and think it's inconceivable that either of those top SMWs have a slight chance that worry me!palooka wrote:Golovkin is going about things in the right way to prove he is P4P worthy, he keeps busy and impresses every time - I think he would relish getting in with someone with a great resume and reputation - he didn't duck a challenge as an amateur. Re: GGG fans
That's just silly though and doesn't really require rising to. Froch is a freak of nature, an exceptionally strong, resilient and courageous fighter and he boxes at just the right weight for him; Ward is exceptional in a different way though this long lay off won't have helped him in any way. Both are very good champions and both would pose difficult questions of Golovkin. It ought to be enough to dominate a weight division, it used to be.danamba7 wrote:This isn't in dispute. Re: GGG fans
I am amazed at this thread. Some people just can't tolerate that many fans found an exciting fighter who has great skills, attitude, personality, exceptional power and talent and that those fans believe their eyes and are excited with what they see and expressing their opinions.
Yes, some statements may be exaggerations, but so are statements by Floyd's, Manny's, Bernard's, Andre's or other fans. The only difference is that Gennady is way more fun to watch than 3 out of 4 fighters I mentioned which is why he has more hardcore fans now than any of them, and it makes some of other fans jealous and mad.

Re: GGG fans
He's very fan friendly; he is polite and does not try any intimidation or bad behaviour out of the ring and he is ruthless in the fight. Some people like to be contrary but Golovkin seems the real deal; I think he'll be a major star.

Re: GGG fans
Certain great fighters you see them for a fight or two and you just know they are Great. GGG is that kind of fighter. He does everything perfectly. Always in control, makes the complex art of boxing look so easy. Always on balance, punches always look sharp and accurate and on target. When he decides to open up, even if he gets countered, it's not a firm blow or he makes it look like it was nothing. GGG has not become a sensation because of hype and packaging (like Mayweather was manufactured and packaged) he's doing it with sensational breathtaking performance in the ring. Like Manny Pacquiao. Sugar Ray Leonard. Mike Tyson. Muhammad Ali. Roberto Duran. Evander Holyfield.
Re: GGG fans
I do think the Golovkin hype is getting a bit too much but how do you know Geale was past his prime? I'm guessing you're coming to that conclusion because he's 33? Well Golovkin is 32 himself so there's very little between them in that regard.fergusg wrote:I have to be honest, I really do admit to having a deep admiration for Gennady Golovkin’s fighting style and the way that he portrays himself as a very likeable character to the media.
That being said, whilst I’m a self-confessed “fan”, I do believe that there are varying degrees of “fanaticism!”
I read some bizarre claims on other threads today suggesting that GGG would easily demolish Andre Ward within four rounds! Seriously!?! How can anyone possibly make such a bold assumption when the best opponent on Golovkin’s resume is a slightly past-his-prime Daniel Geale?
The only way that Golovkin can remove all doubts from my mind is to face a top name that is in their physical prime and competing in their natural habitat, whilst doing to them what we’ve seen him do to others, which is to punish them!
It seems to me that there are many naïve and overzealous GGG “fans” that refuse to question Golovkin's credentials and have granted him an honorary rite of passage to the top of the pound-for-pound pile, without requesting the need for validation!

Re: GGG fans
GGG is like Mike Tyson in the mid to late 1980's. He's a force and very important for boxing. Unlike Tyson there seems to be a undertone of fans who are baiting or talking smack about GGG. This in my opinion is fueling the fire of GGG fans.danamba7 wrote:Starting to scare me now. Impossible to argue with them as many struggle to see both sides of the story. The best at middle are avoiding him, and there no chance for Mayweather to fight him at 154 pounds. I think GGG hits to hard for Froch, and would defeat Ward by turning him into a rabbit.
