Snipes was really good

i think he was another young fighter who gave his very best against holmes and was probably never quite as good after that fight. see also witherspoon, cooney, bey, williams, bonecrusher

If you haven't seen the Snipes-Howe fight, here it is. Real fun, action-packed scrap. Howe was one crazy mutherf^*er#!

I knew Renaldo Snipes well at one point and yes he did get many questionable decisions because he was the only heavyweight not managed by King in a DonKing era .And YES in 1990 Snipes was offered the biggest fight of his career Mike Tyson after his loss to Buster Douglas and a record high purse of $700,000 BUT Snipes screwed up demanding King pay for a top training camp sparring partners not realizing he was just an opponent and blew the deal which went to Henry Tillman.Anyone who knows Snipes knows how headstrong he is he ended up with a fight with Jamie Howe for $15,000 and shattered his hand in return.

I think someone here should suggest to Renaldo Snipes that he should write a book about his life and career.
I know I would purchase a copy.

about a year ago, I finally sat down and watched his fights with Trevor Berbick and Gerrie Coetzee. Both were entertaining hard fought battles. He definitely deserved the Berbick win. The Coetzee fight was a robbery, but after watching it I didn't think it was as cut and dry as so many have claimed over the years. Gerrie deserved the nod, but Snipes was game in that fight. Never saw him fight Witherspoon, though some say he might have gotten shafted in that one. His effort against a peak Holmes was a galant one. Snipes wasn't a great fighter but he was definitely a legit contender and a warrior to be certain.

Snipes was definitely robbed against Witherspoon, sad case.

I watched it live and scored it for Snipes by a pt, After that I didn't give Witherspoon much hope against Holmes, but he really surprised me.

Surprised me also, and Larry should have given him a rematch.
