nastiest knockout I have seen
Re: nastiest knockout I have seen
More recently, I was shocked and more than a little worried about Ricky Hatton's health after the cold knockout it received at the hands of Manny Pacquaio. The way he fell, it was chilling!

I've always thought the flurry that Ali threw at Brian London when London was in a corner stood out. Ali then stood back and watched London fall like a tree. He seemed to throw about 30 punches.
Re: nastiest knockout I have seen
Ruddock kayoing dokes was pretty brutal also Enzos head rolling about when he got flattened by that Russian guy was quite upsetting

Re: nastiest knockout I have seen
Kenny vice's brutal KO of him McDonnell it was so bad that the walk out fight was cancelled and everyone just sat around for a while and just went home
Re: nastiest knockout I have seen
Bloody hell forgot about that, if I remember rightly vice had already been involved in a tragic fight and was really worried about Jim as a resultcpss68 wrote:Kenny vice's brutal KO of him McDonnell it was so bad that the walk out fight was cancelled and everyone just sat around for a while and just went home

Arturo Gatti vs Joey Gamache
Re: nastiest knockout I have seen
Enzo Macc is a really good fighter and seems a great bloke but I've seen him in 2 or 3 really worrying knockouts.

Tyson v Spinks was pretty nasty.
Vincent Pettway v Simon Brown was worrying.
Gatti v Ruelas was like someone opened a trapdoor.

Re: nastiest knockout I have seen
Funnily enough the knockout Enzo suffered at the hands of Frenkel came to mind for me when I watched the Cooper/Erskin KO further up the thread. It's the only time in recent years I can remember a fight in a British ring being allowed to continue after several very heavy knockdowns.palooka wrote:Enzo Macc is a really good fighter and seems a great bloke but I've seen him in 2 or 3 really worrying knockouts.
Enzo had a nightmare post Haye, runs into the unknown Afolabi, followed by the unknown Lebedev, then a few fights later the devastating loss to Frenkel

Another pretty bad one was Ray Mercer vs. Jeff Pegues, the last punch he loaded up on almost tore his head off !!

Arguello vs Rooney was a great one two KO.
Re: nastiest knockout I have seen
for me it was Marciano vs Walcott 1 round 13, great knockout for the rock.
Re: nastiest knockout I have seen
Milton saw neither the left hook (a beautifully precise punch) or the smashing right hand that ended the bout. Curry was a master boxer and had terrific leverage and power.misterpunch wrote:the post that mentioned curry - mccrory

Curry was brilliant for a time, wasn't he, little pug? Even his guard was cool. I tried to spar with my hands held like him and got my arse kicked. Started keeping my hands in front of my face then and stopped throwing punches.

Terry Norris held his hands same way, I also tried it as an amateur but had it knocked out of me by the coachpalooka wrote:Curry was brilliant for a time, wasn't he, little pug? aye, he had Milt on toast there, he was able to anticipate every move- every micro-move for god's sake- Milt did. the poise, anticipation, balance, were all perfect that night, almost as perfect as single performance as I have seenlittlepug wrote:he even slipped the jab first, even on slo mo its still pretty fastpalooka wrote:Milton saw neither the left hook (a beautifully precise punch) or the smashing right hand that ended the bout. Re: nastiest knockout I have seen
I've seen too little of Don Curry, I have a career dvd set which I'm saving for a slow day, and the last few posts of this thread have really whetted my appetite, I don't think I will put off watching that for much longer.
Witherspoon v Smith 2 was a nasty experience for me, I was 7 years old and watching my idol dismantled, not too violently and almost submissively. That hurt.
