Was in fact this James Canty http://boxrec.com/list_bouts.php?human_ ... &cat=boxer, announced as 24 years old and trained by Marvin Simms in Maryland!

His record was announced as 3-0-0 with his previous fight being a TKO1 victory over Gary Coates in Detroit in January 1987. He was a southpaw.

The L.J Canty that Frank Liles knocked out is not the same James Canty who fought Chris Eubank. The one who fought Liles was white and the one who fought Eubank was black!

The White Canty who fought Liles was a journeyman and the Black Canty who fought Eubank was undefeated in three fights.

stands to reason that James Canty fought Ernest Perry in Maryland, not LJ Canty....because he was 3-0 against Eubank and from Maryland..also originally you had James Canty fighting Ernest Perry, not the LJ Canty!
