Ortiz tests positive

Post by Old bones Ian »

So the latest one to test positive for steroids is Luis Ortiz, he just one something called the WBA interim heavyweight belt.
Thing is he could of beat Lateef Kayode in his sleep, but seems to of decided to go down the roid route.

I'm guessing we won't see him face anyone again soon, and he was in line for a shot at Wlad at some point as well.

Nandrolone. Cue a rampant cold sore problem that needed treating with bucket loads of Lysine being responsible for a false positive.

I've read its nandrolone, if it is then he's a bigger fool than i first thought.
But in the wisdom of the Nevada state, they are saying its only a year ban. So at the rate most heavies fight these days its a couple of missed fights.

Oh and he will get fined a percentage of his $80,000 purse, has there been such a low payday for a so called heavyweight title fight in recent years??

I don't remember the exact figure but wasn't Stiverne v Arreola a ridiculously low purse as well? ...and that was for the WBC title...
