Why not Stiverne/Wilder winner ?
When are they even fighting?

I don't think Ruiz would even beat Takam.

Good win by Povetkin in the end. Takam with better tactical awareness could have won I thought. He did no take advantage of his speed and movement. Whereas Povetkin took full advantage of his power.

Takam was going to lose a decision if he had a better gas tank.

He's decent. Povetkin is maybe the best of a sorry lot after Wlad.

Haye would beat Povetkin but he never fights.

That would be fine too but it looks like there are a lot of problems getting that fight made so I wouldn't count on it.

I think Povetkin could attract anyone to fight him over in russia as he has a big backer behind him so he could easily get the stiverne/wilder winner over.

If Wilder does happen to beat Stiverne I think he will have all the backing he needs to stay in the states.

Then better Wider win cause Povetkins backer said he wont ever deal with Don King.

I didn't get to see the fight, but on paper at least it's a pretty good result. Takam's quite a decent, if unspectacular, fighter.

I would love to see Povetkin vs Wilder unless Wilder is exposed by Stiverne. If Wilder beats Povetkin, then he can fight Wlad.

Povetkin wasn't generally impressive but the result was good. I thought Takam beat Perez in addition to Thompson, and he seems like a tough guy so taking him out like that is noteworthy.

Incidentally, Povetkin's last two KOs have been among the best of the year in the division.

Man, that was not Grants night, he's not getting any younger. This awkward bending over to avoid punches just to eat a bunch of uppercuts, that was a poor defensive plan. Charr is an ugly brawler but effective against limited opponents, in Povetkin he met a better brawler who knocked him out hard, Klitschko was just way out of his league and was picking him apart by the time of the stoppage. Good win for Charr, but Grant isn't really holding the key to the division any more. I guess he was also frustrated that the referee didn't intervene when Charr held and punched or hit despite break command. Not that it would have mattered much though.

Povetkin vs Takam was a good, entertaining fight, Takam looked pretty good through most of the fight, but you can see how he started to look really slow in the 9th leading up to the knockdown. Again, Povetkin showed that he is one of the best brawlers out there, I never understood how he struggled that hard with Huck when he got a very close decision against him. But if you see him fight it becomes so obvious why Wladimirs style of jabbing, moving backwards, jabbing some more to set up the right and tying up when his opponent charges in worked so well on him. It's good to watch when Povetkin gets a fighter in the ring who matches his style, then his charging in with head down, shoulder up and swinging hooks style makes good entertainment. That said, he can fight more technical when needed and he sees it as effective, brand him just a brawler wouldn't do him justice. But brawling is where he looks tough and effective.

I wonder where Povetkin and Charr will go from here. Well, maybe not Charr as he can't challenge anything yet. Klitschko, should he remain undefeated is gearing up to grab the WBC belt as well, so the WBA regular is fair game. Would be a safe bet for Povetkin who already beat Chagaev to try that route again and would sell good one the domestic market.

In an ideal world:

Wilder knocks Stiverne out
Wilder knocks Povetkin out

Klitschko knocks Pulev out
Klitschko knocks Fury out

K2 does a PPV co-main event at MSG:
Klitschko vs Wilder unification
Golovkin vs next bum

Cheers for that. Any explanation for why Takam was constantly blinking and pawing at eye with his right glove?
