Welliver vs. Browne: Knockdowns
Unstoppable force meets immovable object?
Re: Welliver vs. Browne: Knockdowns
Hahaha, love it. In seriousness, I would love to see Chauncy turn up in great (!) shape and give Brown a boxing masterclass.

Hopefully the referee will save him from a hospital visit like the referee in the Solis fight did. Nobody wants to see game fighters get messed up any worse than they need to.Kronkpride wrote:Not a chance Welliver goes down.

Re: Welliver vs. Browne: Knockdowns
Welliver was never saved vs Solis. He was protesting immediately, smiling, egging the crowd on and was not hurt at the time of stoppage.
You are talking about a man here who has sparred almost all of the best HW's in this world. Paid punch trader with the baddest damn men on the planet. Browne aint no thing to Welliver. He doesn't hit like Briggs. Or like Tyson or Wladimir. Hell he probably doesn't even hit as hard as Huck. A little shy of Povetkin as well. He aint as big as Valuev. Not as big as Helenius. He's no Perez. No Oliver McCall. He damn well aint no Joe Hipp. Welliver's list of guys he's been in with goes on and on and on. Browne's power aint shit.
That Solis fight was BS and Chauncy would have finished that round and that fight n his feet....trying to win the whole time. He got robbed. It is not boxing when people stop fights before a guy even goes down. Unless it is injury or a cut. Or if a guy turns his back or is out on his feet and no longer intelligently defending himself. None of that occurred and immediately upon the stoppage Welliver showed he was nowhere near a beaten man and did not accept the stoppage. Olympic Gold Medalist team getting embarrassed and ref operates a shady stoppage...no more than that happened. Refs are supposed to protect fighters not rob them.

Re: Welliver vs. Browne: Knockdowns
That's the beauty of a referee stopping a fight. The guy getting clobbered gets to walk away. When you are defenseless in a corner getting hammered in a fight you haven't won a round in the best outcome is the referee saving you from further damage.Kronkpride wrote:Welliver was never saved vs Solis. Most boxers have at one stage or other. Particularly heavyweights. The important thing is he got up both times and went on to win.Cutman Scabbers wrote:Browne's been down a few times, hasn't he?
