martin j ward v maxi hughes sf eliminator
martin j ward v maxi hughes sf eliminator
The pair meet on the prizefighter show in December how u see this fight going. A win for either could get them a shot at winner of Sykes walsh or a final eliminator against troy james who has won back to back eliminators.

Maxi wins this for me, late stoppage, I think Martin a great fighter but I'm not convinced he does the weights very well, good fight and the division is opening up now

Ward wins by stoppage or shut out. Different levels.JamieM wrote:Maxi wins this for me, late stoppage, I think Martin a great fighter but I'm not convinced he does the weights very well, good fight and the division is opening up now

Maxi on points.. Good matchup. Maxi has been in with a few good fighters now. That experience will be the difference.

& i don't think troys camp would be impressed if they had to fight another eliminator. Hes earned his shot now
Re: martin j ward v maxi hughes sf eliminator
Yeah I agree troy deserves a shot but big promoter's and money talks. Hope that isn't the caseJc89 wrote:& i don't think troys camp would be impressed if they had to fight another eliminator. Hes earned his shot now

Ward is with Warren and Hughes with Caldwell so can see Troy still getting his shot.. I've heard Walsh isn't fighting so maybe Troy will be ready for the fight with Sykes..

Re: martin j ward v maxi hughes sf eliminator
Cant see either Sykes or Walsh fighting for it. Think Sykes will move back to Light weight if he even fights again.. Heard he has had a finger off cos of infection??! I reckon the winner of ward/Hughes will fight Troy James for vacant belt next year.

Funny how he isn't fighting, but Sykes is still training and dieting, and allegedly are doing a piece with him about the fight today, Steve Wood still seems to think the fight is on, as does Steve Bunce and there's been no mention of the fight being off from Frank or Francis Warren.leforge wrote:Why?Bandit wrote:Walsh isn't fighting

It's not funny is a shame on Gary.. Walsh was sparring this week and is seemingly at 10 stone 6lbs no way in a million years is he getting anywhere near 9 stone 4lbs.. If this fight happens I will be very surprisedexpe wrote:Funny how he isn't fighting, but Sykes is still training and dieting, and allegedly are doing a piece with him about the fight today, Steve Wood still seems to think the fight is on, as does Steve Bunce and there's been no mention of the fight being off from Frank or Francis Warren.leforge wrote:Why?Bandit wrote:Walsh isn't fighting

Gary can't make weight properly and walsh having contract issues. Isn't happening! Troy james v mitchell smith ??
Re: martin j ward v maxi hughes sf eliminator
It was more a reference to the fact that right now Warren, allegedly, Sykes and Wood all think the fight is going ahead, if it wasn't happening, I think they would be top of the list to have found out by now. And if Walsh has been sparring, as things stand, the fight is going ahead. 16lbs in a little over 30 days is doable, if that weight is correct, he might be a bit tight but he can definitely make the weight in time and weight can fluctuate by a few pounds depending on when he was weighed.daviddee wrote:It's not funny is a shame on Gary.. David seems to think it's Walsh that can't make the weight, you lot really need to get your stories straight.JamieM wrote:Gary can't make weight properly and walsh having contract issues. Isn't happening! Troy james v mitchell smith ??
Re: martin j ward v maxi hughes sf eliminator
Walsh is struggling,Davidee is right Walsh can't make the weight fight won't happen for the same 2 reasons why he's pulled out b4. Weight.

16 lbs when he's not really interested is very hard.. Walsh will not make the weight it's that simple.. Sykes on the other hand will.. I can't see him sticking around at this weight but he will make weight.. Few stories floating about but wouldn't be surprised if it was Sykes v Smith. Warren is in control will be one of his fighters.. Can't see it being on the Fury show though

Re: martin j ward v maxi hughes sf eliminator
We'll see come November 28th then, most of your other predictions regarding Walsh have been wrong so I expect to see him in the ring on November 29th. Sykes has been a super featherweight for nearly 9 years, you've made this claim about him moving up before and it hasn't happened, he was 9st 5 1/4 lbs against Femi Fehintola, if he's getting that close for an 8 rounder I doubt there's any problems with the weight. Warren isn't in control, Walsh is Sykes mandatory, he won the purse bids for the fight, if either were to pull out, it would be up to the board to provide a new opponent, Troy James being most likely, that would then go out to purse bids again.daviddee wrote: 16 lbs when he's not really interested is very hard.. Did you not watch sykes against kays? Sorry but he was
Majorly weight drained!!! Also liam walsh has foght at lighweight lately and is a class act at that weight and has pulled out numerous fights now, something is not right there?? FW would not say if the fight was not happening as in truth he'll do nothing that affects ticket sales, for me both are lightweights and we will see mitchell smith move into a british title fight, money talks.... U know the rest
