It's true that's why he's in Spain. Sykes has been a super featherweight for nearly 9 years, you've made this claim about him moving up before and it hasn't happened, he was 9st 5 1/4 lbs against Femi Fehintola, if he's getting that close for an 8 rounder I doubt there's any problems with the weight. Warren isn't in control, Walsh is Sykes mandatory, he won the purse bids for the fight, if either were to pull out, it would be up to the board to provide a new opponent, Troy James being most likely, that would then go out to purse bids again.daviddee wrote: 16 lbs when he's not really interested is very hard.. Walsh will not make the weight it's that simple.. Sykes on the other hand will.. I can't see him sticking around at this weight but he will make weight.. Few stories floating about but wouldn't be surprised if it was Sykes v Smith. Warren is in control will be one of his fighters.. Can't see it being on the Fury show though

Gary Sykes does the weight properly Liam Walsh doesn'tJamieM wrote:Did you not watch sykes against kays? Sorry but he was
Majorly weight drained!!! Also liam walsh has foght at lighweight lately and is a class act at that weight and has pulled out numerous fights now, something is not right there?? FW would not say if the fight was not happening as in truth he'll do nothing that affects ticket sales, for me both are lightweights and we will see mitchell smith move into a british title fight, money talks.... U know the rest

Not quite sure what weather=weight means but plenty of fighters train out in Spain nowadays.Bandit wrote:It's true that's why he's in Spain. Re: martin j ward v maxi hughes sf eliminator
Pretty sure I got it right about Walsh pulling out the last few fights.. Only thing I have not got right is him moving to Hearn.. Not heard much recently but I know for a fact him and Warren don't see eye to eye.. Warren dropped his brothers for refusing fights and Liam is notorious for turning down fights. Ask anyone in the industry about fights that Walsh has refused.. For the record I said after Ronnie fought Ryan that Liam would pull out the fight with Ricky Burns look what happened
Re: martin j ward v maxi hughes sf eliminator
You said he would pull out in July, he didn't, you said his contract was up in August and he was moving to Matchroom, he didn't and if his contract was up and he doesn't see eye to eye with Warren, why is he fighting on his show again? The two don't really go together. A car crash put him out of the Burns fight, not some random injury that could have been made up like you're suggesting.daviddee wrote:Pretty sure I got it right about Walsh pulling out the last few fights.. A car crash next you will be telling me the tooth fairy is real. He knew he wasn't ready that was fabricated.. I said I think his contract is up in August time will tell... He wasn't going to fight in July. Re: martin j ward v maxi hughes sf eliminator
So they faked a car crash then? I think they could have found an easier way to get out of the fight. His contract obviously wasn't up in August and he fought in July, it was Sykes that pulled out not him.daviddee wrote:A car crash next you will be telling me the tooth fairy is real. Re: martin j ward v maxi hughes sf eliminator
He fought and almost 10 stone.. He also turned down 3 opponents.. He hand picked the one he wanted.. I don't believe there was a car crash.. He knew he was losing that fight. The announce on the night that he would be fighting Ricky Burns and you could see that clearly wasn't happening..
Re: martin j ward v maxi hughes sf eliminator
If Walsh Sykes doesn't happen then surely Sykes would either vacate or be stripped anyway. Don't really see what power would have to get Mitchell a shot. Should really be troy James v the winner of maxi/ward.

Gary pulled out of July fight because of injury a medical statement from pinderfields hospital was sent to bbbofc they carried out the 2nd op ,previous two times Walsh pulled out no medical evidence was ever shown on them occasions ,as it stands Gary's told his manager Steve Wood he'll do the fight at lightweight if Walsh is struggling to make the weight lad needs to fight his only income

There wasn't ever no car crash!
No way Liam Walsh goes to matchroom (might have to fight someone)

Re: martin j ward v maxi hughes sf eliminator
He was 9st 10lbs, closer to 9 1/2 st than 10, not almost 10st. I don't get the big deal with him picking an opponent, it was a keep busy fight, more likely that his team chose the opponent than him. A car crash means police, ambulance and fire services all coming out, he had to be cut from the car, you can't fake that sort of thing, with insurance claims and such, plus the money lost by Burns and Warren, making something like that up could lead to fraud charges and a breach of contract and we all know Fwank doesn't hesitate when it comes to suing people.daviddee wrote:He fought and almost 10 stone.. Re: martin j ward v maxi hughes sf eliminator
He's closer to 10 stone than he is to making the 9"4 limit anyways, he can't make the weight, I like walsh but getting him in the ring is a mission for whatever reason, all walsh brothers don't stay active! That crash didn't happen, and from what I hear he picks his opponents, refuses everyone FW puts to him

The car crash was faked........ FACT it's common knowledge around the area. That's the only way he thought he could pull out without having egg on his face with everyone. Bottle job shithouse

It's been going on for two and year with Sykes and Walsh supposed to fight at a show in Wolverhampton which he turned down I was with Gary's trainer when dean Powell rang and said nope he doesn't want it even spoke to trainer and its a no if he can't make sfw the offers there for lw
Re: martin j ward v maxi hughes sf eliminator
If he doesn't fight him at sfw he won't do it at lightweight, for me I think gary will move up and win a british at that weight also, sykes for me having spoke on Twitter etc won't refuse a fight, he looked really drained against kays but hopefully he does make the weight better if walsh does come off! Walsh has no intrest in it for me, everyone knows it! FW is manoevring mitchell smith into a shot , english title is what got Jon kays the shot having not fought an eliminator and also sykes fought off the back of an English title defence? Troy james deserves the shot but unfortunately when you sell 70 tickets in your hometown you don't seem so appealing to big promotors
