Ronnie used to be Eubank Sr's bag carrier. Eubank Sr even mentioned once that he was the trainer and Ronnie was the student, that he trained himself and taught Ronnie to be a better coach at the same time!!!!

Re: Does Ronnie Davies have any Self Respect?
I think the first guy he trained (and managed) was Tim Moloney (through schoolboys to pros), but Davies was inexperienced and regrets not being able to get him a title shot. He was also in Paul Huggins corner when Huggins fought Barry McGuigan. A fighter called Paul Newman was 5-4-0 under Davies before going back to Barney Eastwood.reggaereggae wrote:Who else did Ronnie Davies train apart from the Eubanks?
Around the time Eubank came through, he also had Leigh Wicks, Roger Silsby, Michael Justin (4-2-1 under Davies before Justin went to Brendan Ingle after the first Del Bryan fight), Johnny Uphill (2-1 when under Davies) and Tony Borg (5-1 under Davies) in a corner of Jack Pook's gym in Hove, then his whole time was taken up with Eubank, then, Howard Eastman, Scott Welch, Henry Castle, Tony Oakey, Matthew Ellis, Scott Whyley et al. Then Eubank Jr.
He was often in junior and senior ABA semis and finals in the early 60s and was Southern Area lightweight champ as a pro. He knows boxing.
