Do professional boxers have to undergo ImPACT Testing?

I know they have to have scans, but I dont know what an ImPACT test is. Personally the more science becomes involved in establishing cause and effect between boxing and brain damage the less likely it seems to me that professional boxing and even amateur boxing can survive. If I knew then what I know now I dont think I would have taken up the sport.

So many fighters retire seemingly ok then 10 years later start slurring words, depression, anxiety and then 5 years after that they start to decline. The scans they have now just dont pick this up.

I think we might see shorter careers in the future with fighters being forced to hang up the gloves if brain damage is detected at an early stage.

Its probably best if boxing as a whole is proactive with this before lawsuits start happening and the British Medical Council step in and get what they always wanted (Boxing banned)

It's right I stopped years ago now but my memory especially is fading I know old age may be a part of it but boxing is also massively involved get in there have a go if it fails get out. It's all the punches in the gym that make the difference I hardly wore a headguard but I wish I did now tough tough sport

Headgards were recently found to increase the chance brain damage, weren't they?

I'm not too clued up on it but surely wearing a full face head guard is better than not wearing one?

I thought thats why they weren't used in the Commonwealth games?
