Just so I don't get crucified for this, I was also joking! Page 1 of the 'Danny Williams should be banned' thread will confirm this.Rexob wrote:Joke thread just for Boxerbeetle.

Hatton
Witter would have just been looking for the big shot all night, missing wildly and leaving himself wide open to counters, Witter would have made Hatton look like Sugar Ray Leonard.

Yes. This was a much-wanted fight back when they were both World Champions at Lighter Welterweight.SMALL AXE1 wrote:Were they rivals?

It wouldn't been Hatton for me, and I'd give Witter the credit to say that he would go all 12 rounds.

Mr H obviously ;;-)
Re: Hatton vs Witter You decide.
For me, Witter was already passed his prime when he won his world title. I think the time when Junior was world champion, Hatton would have smashed him.
When Witter was going through his period of smashing people up for the EBU title - now that might have been interesting.... seemed though his punch power faded (or was it just about the levels he was facing) post Ndou and was soon becoming a 5 round fighter.... tailor made for Hatton.
Yes, the case could be made that Hatton himself was also past his prime.... I think they were both the other side of their peak when Ricky fought Lazcano, but I just think stylewise Ricky would have mullered him.
2002-2004 would have been very interesting mind.
I didn't realise Witter was still fighting, thought he'd retired after the Gavin fight.

Wonder who would win now

Re: Hatton vs Witter You decide.
Actually - Had Hatton fought Witter instead of Rabechenko 2 years ago it might have been a very interesting fight and possibly a different story for Hatton's comeback. Hatton probably showed enough at that fight to mix it with the best domestically (not Khan and Brook obviously) and Witter in 2012 is strictly domestic level.Rexob wrote:Wonder who would win now![]()
