Yep. He's either completely out of touch OR he's being ordered by Sky to create PPVs and hes shamelessly gone into salesman overdrive trying to convince the weak-minded that this event is worthy of PPV.

Audley Harrison, followed by David Haye (ironically, these two fought each other in a PPV stinker too) ended my PPV desires a few years ago & this fight won't make me break my boycott, that's for sure.

For me there isn't 1 50/50 fight on the bill as I think Bellew will smash Cleverly. Eddie continually thinks he can sell these massive bills because they have big names on them and 2 world title fights. Noone truly believes Quigg or Mcdonnell to be world champs. There is more 50/50 fights on the dublin bill than this.

I feel allegedly has cottoned on the fact that the punters rather a 50/50 match up looking at the 29th card and the fact he's putting his own fighters against each other. I think he's done this as he has had too where as Eddie is far to comfortable with his relationship with sky.

I am a massive matchroom fan but sadly they are far too comfortable at the moment and sky sports have created this monster by allowing a monopoly on the boxing events. Hopefully when this bombs we will see some changes.

Eddie will sprout the fact that ppv was needed to afford to pay all the boxers on this bill. Yet he's found room for a non matchroom fighter on the bill. The easy solution would've been to have 2 non ppv bills and get more money from the gates as Bellew vs Cleverly would've sold out in Liverpool regardless of the undercard.

Lastly i'm really disappointed no opponent has been named for Steven Smith yet. He deserves a step up and a challenge and i'm starting to worry that he's gonna end up in another easy fight. Look after your own fighters before adding Groves to the bill. I only hope i'm wrong and they already have a decent opponent for swift and are holding out on announcement to have a big press release to try sell the ppv.
Not defending this as a PPV at all, but to say Clev vs Bellew isn't 50:50 is a bit harsh. Bookies cannot separate them at all, even Froch and Groves (rematch time) were separated by the bookies.

Groves has relinquished his European title, according to Bob Mee on Twitter.

Will this see a reduction in the PPV price?

Jack Solomons, Harry Levine, and they operated in the days of one world champion per weight category. They put on top flight shows for decades. allegedly is nowhere near their league - he is nowhere near the league of the 'cartel'.

Could you imagine if Levine and Solomons would have had four world title belts to play with?
Sorry I meant the modern era. But as I understand, in those times and later with Duff etc there was a kind of monopoly; Jewish Mafia style domination where outsiders, especially the Goyim, could not penetrate the promotional field ESP when it came to BBC televisation.

Allegedly thus had to begin in Unlicensed until the old guard got ousted as he wasn't a mensch.
He isn't a mensch but he is a shlong.

Sorry if it came out wrong but I'm not denying Bellew vs Cleverley is seen as a 50/50. I meant just in my opinion it isn't so I personally don't think there is a close fight on the card.

Well I can afford Sky pretty easily and do not even know how much I pay, hundred quid I guess and I apologise if that comes across as flash bollox as it is not intended, I mean that I have bugger all life, do not smoke or drink so it is no biggie but I too am probably going to cancel Sky Sports. I have not watched a non boxing event on Sky in over a year I imagine and the stuff I get on allegedly is pretty solid and what I prefer to watch.

They are being very short sighted here. Sports fans will always keep sky sports, boxing fans will now debate it. Someone here said Sky have created this monster and they have, totally. They handed it to Matchroom, built them as a return favour for the darts etc and now are paying the price.

I could do without all the faux aggro in the build-up, but I am interested in the Clev/Bellew rematch - first fight was a belter so don't see why the second one won't be. Throw in DeGale facing Periban & Callum Smith having a step up & it'll be a decent night of boxing. Pay Per View worthy? Not in a million years but I'm weak so can't deny I'll be buying.

Hahahah - hilarious - not a cat in hell's chance I'm going to buy this. I cancelled sky sports many moons ago, and have had no qualms about doing so every since.

17 quid for this fight - a joke.

I have said from the start I don't mind it being Ppv and I am a fan of eddie Hearn and what he has done so far but I agree with most, he talked up this card for weeks and weeks and it is only decent far from great. He should have said look it's a good solid card and I am going to charge £10.

I heard there are 3 more fights being put on the card but that for now is just hear say, so unless he does bump this card up and put another 3 quality fights on then it is not really worth £17

I wouldnt have thought they'd have enough time to put on another 3 fights, unless they were under 12 rounds, isnt there already about 6 or 7 twelve rounders??

Let's be honest though - Cleverly vs Bellew is currently the only fight on the card likely to go anywhere near 12 rounds.

I reckon Degale-Periban will go 12. Periban looks very solid.

Fair point, I forgot about that one actually. Yeah that'll probably go at least til the late rounds.

I buy pretty much every PPV event but I won't be buying this on principle. I do want to see it but if this sells well it will just open the floodgates to every half decent match up also being PPV which is very dangerous and expensive territory. I hope the whole PPV event bombs. I will seek out a stream online.

All I can say is thank god for allegedly. I know FW gets a bad press and I'm not his biggest fan but his channel is a godsend for boxing fans and at 12 quid a month is a real bargain. So far this year we have had multiple top quality world title fights and this weekend arguably the most intriguing fight of the year so far in Kovalev v Hopkins. Makes a mockery of the Bellew v Cleverly PPV costing 1.5 times what a month's allegedly subscription costs!

I can't believe that apart from a few Welshmen, and some chavvh Scousers., that any casual fans know these fighters exist.
Might shock you, but Cleverly is probably the most well known UK boxer to Welsh people behind Haye, Khan and Froch.

If I get really bored on Saturday night and don't go anywhere, then I may well buy this. However I'm also in agreement that we as hardcore fans need to make a stand on this one and not buy it because it's not PPV quality, simple as that.

I don't mind the odd PPV here and there for the very best fights, that's what Hearn himself promised us, those fights that are just begging to be made but need stupid money to make them happen. This just isn't one of them, this is standard Saturday Fight Night fare dressed up as a PPV cos of some fake panto WWE-style rivalry.
