the dark horse on the British hw seen hughie fury
He is the quiter one of the fury boxers seems down to earth an goes by his business in a professional manner hughie fury imo is very underrated, lets look at the facts he didn't have the amateur pedigree behind him like Joshua going to the olimpic games he is only 19years old has fought better opposition than Joshua gets great sparring with tyson fury an eddie chambers, he is still only a baby in heavyweight terms, people are quick to say he doesn't have the power to make it as a top HW, thats alot of rubbish meny Hws over the years, at 19 have had ko power eh Ali, tyson, there the only 2 tht spring to mind most of the great punchers turned pro later in age, what am saying is he has plenty of time on his side an the power will come, Joshua is 25 nearly 26 this guy hughie is only a baby an if matched sensibley could be a real dark horse, think about it Price is in his 30s tyson fury is 26 or 27 chisora is in his 30s as is haye, I have full confidence in hughie they can take there time with him unlike Joshua who I think if the hold him back would stagnant, hughie will learn with all the camps with tyson an tysons sparring partners an after Joshua wins the British an commonwealth titles a relinquishs them I think hughie will step in an pick them up thts if Joshua goes dwn tht route if not I think hughie could hang around at domestic level for a few year an European level keeping busy an learning all the time building up his record an bulking up abit as he isn't the biggest weight wise do any you agree with me

Didn't he win a gold medal in the 2012 Youth World Amateur Boxing Championships not a bad amateur pedigree could be worse

Re: the dark horse on the British hw seen hughie fury
Needs a steady diet of journeymen till he gets his man strength as well as some decent sparring and he could be promising, amazing to think iron mike was only a year older when he won first world title !

The Danny Bad News Hughes fight was a very good win for him. He's still developing physically and won't reach his physical prime for at least 5 years. Lots to work with and his amateur credentials show he has ability. They just need the right fights at the right time. Lots of questions too, particularly regarding his lack of pop, chin, stamina etc but as mentioned no need whatsoever to Rush him. Hard to say at this stage how far he can go: best judged in a couple of years me thinks.

Well he has done nothing wrong so far also mike perez will come again the irish based Cubain as soon as wlads gone the division will be far more competitive an as soon as wlad is gone you'll get haye back hez a business man first fighter 2nd but a truly believe Britain will have a hw world champ fury will fight chisora an price will likely face the loser an the loser between fury/chisora vs price will probably face Joshua
Re: the dark horse on the British hw seen hughie fury
Problem is if he keeps having ticking over fights he will get bored and stale, and he will stop improving. Too many easy fights mean bad habits and you dont develop the way you should. It happened with Georgie Collins, turned over very young-he had over 35 fights in four years, then couldnt handle the step up to title level.dougie-boyjr wrote:Yeah they dnt need to rush him he has the potential to be a force in a few years

I think he is a real talented kid, He's got plenty of time depends on how they see how his career is going on whether the step up or down is needed I'm sure at least a British title, but don't really like his style tbf all the Fury's seem to have the same style of boxing.
Re: the dark horse on the British hw seen hughie fury
he wont get anywhere. a plodding one foot to the other slow heavyweight.
Re: the dark horse on the British hw seen hughie fury
Was very impressed with him early doors but seems physically drained lately.
Plenty of time for him to come on though.
I do worry about the nutrition of the Fury camp fighters though. Possibly unfounded but there you go.

I thought he was really ill and had been for a while? Could have got it wrong. Is he back fighting?
Re: the dark horse on the British hw seen hughie fury
He is ill and these kind of viral fatigues can take a long time to get over-something the Fury's seem unwilling to take on board fully. If he gets well he looks like a European level fighter to me with reasonable progression.

I agree with this. I think he was better in his first three fights. He then seemed to get worse....handsofstone wrote:Ive been slightly less impressed with Hughie every time ive seen him if im honest, but as OP says he's still a baby for a HW so plenty of time, maybe the time out will do him good,he was active

He is a baby at 19 he can take a year out evn longer go round the gyms sparring the bst an learning all the time he has a bright future, if he was in his late 20s a wouldn’t give him a chance of achieving much more than a domestic title but he is light years away from fighting for world titles lets jst match him well an be patient

Joshua is 25, an yes fury has fought better men apart from maybe Joshuas lst opponent but fury would have beat him not ko him the wae AJ did but would probably have beat him on ptsKarl Jade wrote:Two utterly nonsensical opinions and a lie about AJ's age. He turned 25 about 2 weeks ago, bit harsh to say that makes him nearly 26.dougie-boyjr wrote:Joshua is 25, an yes fury has fought better men apart from maybe Joshuas lst opponent but fury would have beat him not ko him the wae AJ did but would probably have beat him on ptsKarl Jade wrote:Two utterly nonsensical opinions and a lie about AJ's age. I think Joshua would murder Fury right now, so you are best off keeping them out of the same conversations.

Re: the dark horse on the British hw seen hughie fury
I'm not sure if the inactivity and health scares, are going to be a deterrant to his progress or if he's active enough in the gym that it just wont matter--- I love the Fury family, but they have really lost alot of momentum. I think even now, there's a sense of impending doom around the Chisora fight because there's been so many delays, so many issues, etc. that people have lost faith in them to a point.
Its no real fault of their own. Between promoters, injuries, egotistical fighters, and family tragedies, they're excused. However I am curious, as a human being, what kind of effect emotionally and mentally will there be once they do return full time to competition. I'm having flashbacks of when Cooney was inactive for almost 2 years, before facing Holmes.
