Will Eubank actual fight Saunders?

Good question and you are right... no one of note.

Agreed. Eubank Jr has been professional for three years now, and he has not done anything remarkable.
Consider this - Chris has had EIGHTEEN fights, which you have to say is a helluva lot - and to put that in to context, the likes of Carl Frampton has only had nineteen fights and he's a World Champion and has challenged for & defended a European Title.

When comparing that to young Chris, what has he done? What impact has he made in the sport?

All I meant was....while you say Saunders could put the brakes on Eubank...I think the same the other way as I just don't see anything great about BJS.....just my opinion.

Certainly you are entitled to your opinion, sir. But at least Suanders has made a steady progression up the rankings, fighting good British opponents and accumulating titles while doing so.

To date, Saunders is the reigning British, Commonwealth & European Champion - yet Eubank Jr has only had a single scheduled 12 round fight. Surely that has to be considered poor form after three years of professional boxing.

I could ask you a similar thing...what makes you think BJS will beat Eubank? how do you know?

Well Saunders has been tried and tested. He's beaten the likes of John Ryder, Jarrod Fletcher & Nick Blackwell who are each good fighters, and to a lesser degree opponents like Matthew Hall, Tony Hill & Gary O'Sullivan are certainly noteworthy as well. He's show that he can consistently go twelve rounds, no problem.

And I would also point out that Eubank has not met any of these opponents in the squared circle.

Its an Interesting fight because as you will see from the poll on here...its divided peoples opinion big time. Do you not find it an interesting fight?

There's no denying that this is a big step-up for Eubank. He's going in against the best young Middleweight on these islands, can I can't help but think that he could've fought some of the above guys to bring his level up a bit before facing Saunders.

I hope that this is a close contest, but I do think that there's a distinct possibility that Eubank just isn't prepared for Saunders and that he could be sorely outmatched here.

Excellent response my good fellow and to be honest, when its written with facts like you have done, there is little to argue against.

Despite that, I still think Eubank will not only definitely fight but I think he will win.

I think the fight will happen. If Eubank Jnr wins it might not be long before he sings with Matchroom seen as his father worked with Barry in the past.

The whole fanbase discussion is quite interesting. Granted Saunders is ahead today, but eubank is far more flammable in my opinion. If they both turn out to be greats, I'd think eubank will turn out as the bigger draw.

Hoping the fight takes place and still think it will.

I don't think the no-show has anything to do with fear, just good old fashioned mind games. Saunders to his credit has been relatively calm and I think they are just trying to get him super wound up.

Really can't work out whether the Chris Junior non-appearance at the most recent scheduled press conference was Poppa Eubank playing some tricks from his own back catalogue on Saunders - we'll decide when and where we speak to you etc - or whether they were genuinely worried that Billy Joe was going to kick-off and it was not a safe situation.

I can't imagine Saunders was best pleased to be sat there stewing on his own....although Boxing News reported that he was not flustered.

Apparently the Eubank team wanted £50,000 put aside as a sort of guarantee for Billy's good behaviour which is borderline bizarre......FW rightly said if that was a real concern he'd happily hire some more security and that Saunders has been well-behaved and never sent the furniture flying in London hotels previously.

There was also a suggestion from the Eubank team that the press call should be held on their own turf in Brighton.....clearly unrealistic....and which suggests Chris Snr is pulling strings.
