That's fair enough, but Willie was never in a Matchroom contract so how did you know you could fight him on an Eddie show?
Titles before money is very noble, but now you don't have a title to bring anything to the table. Good luck to ye, i'm not a big fan but you seem an honest sort.

Because Eddie told me the fight was live on sky, limond had agreed to the fight, simple really, when your the champion you can call the shots to a certain extent, I've already had loads of offers to fight different people so I know I have plenty of options, first ill get in shape then choose the right one for me, if your a fan or not doesn't bother me either way, i won't be pushed around or dictated to by promoters, especially ones that send rubber cheques

Now you sound a bit Bellewish but like I said, good luck to you. Think you're absolutely mental going to 147 but I've never boxed pro so you know more than me.
Hopefully you've got a decent manager sorting your camps now and no more tweeting for sparring partners at 4 o'clock in the afternoon

BN had well documented cash-flow problems in the early months, that's perfectly normal for a new business. I do understand the myopic point of view of those fighters who were impacted at the time as a result of that but to still be harping on about it now doesn't take 'balls'. I'm sure anyone on here who has worked for themselves has had to wait for money from time to time, no need to name and shame. Dry your eyes and deal with it privately.

Easy to say dry your eyes when it's not you, after the Gavin fight which I fought well in, did what I said I would, come to fight I was pisssing blood for nearly 3 days, I had 13 stitches in my face, 8 in my eye and 5 in my mouth, I had a holiday booked for 2 weeks after the fight, 1st cheque bounced, 2nd cheque bounced then a 3rd cheque was bounced on my manager, I had to cancel my holiday for me my wife and kids which devastated them because I couldn't afford it, not 1 single call from that ccunt explaining the situation, all I got was dean Powell saying how sorry he was and that he was trying his best to sort it, I'm sure I'm not the only one with that type of story, this is a dangerous sport, we all know the risks and accept them, all I ask way paying on time, took about 10 weeks to get full payment, but like you say, dry your eyes eh, ffuck frank, he's a wanker

Anyway, while you're on spilling beans on every fker, why'd ye bin Coldwell? I'm guessing he didn't agree to you going to 147 or you realised he hasn't time to give 100% to every one of his fighters.

Shocking story Curtis. Can see why your livid. Something tells me warren and sons got there paycheck on time that month. You have fan friendly style so I am sure hearn will get you on a couple if his shows, and for warren not to apologise is a disgrace, as least you got paid in the end, heard joe calzaghe is still down 1 million, he's been told checks in the post.......

Awful story to read. It really makes the nasty comments by frank last week seem even more nasty. I guess the animosity is down to Curtis speaking about it rather than keeping quiet to save fwank's blushes....

I'd have thought after all these years of making good money that the promoter in question would have enough ready dough to pay the grafters if not, why not borrow a few quid from Bill Ives for a week or 2? If I were good mates with a rich bloke I reckon he'd help me out a bit to get out of the shit.

I think bill's put in more than a few quid. Several million maybe ?

DazDiCanio wrote:He will probably be kept busy fighting Latvians, but let's see. Hearn seems to have this localised business plan, that every show needs a plethera of local fighters to sell tickets. This saves him from having to work on matching decent opponents i suppose.
Really? I understand why he tries to get more than 1 fighter in an area, it makes business sense to be able to get a few fighters close by selling out bigger venues. This helps him put on better fights, i don't think Brad Saunders would be signing with Eddie to be fed Latvians because he could have done that with Frank!!

Imo he has been told that Willie limond will be giving up the British and he is next in line or he has promised him a fight with Dave Ryan for the Commonwealth title.

So when that prick says I'll never box on one of his shows again I chuckle, I made that decision a while back, not him, well done brad Saunders, good fighter and a nice kid, he will do well under Eddie, if the fight is offered and the terms are good and it's for something sexy I'll gladly accept and I'll try my best

Cheers, Jim; you'd have imagined there'd be plenty in the wages account then - it's like a multi million pound business being run day to day on a shoestring, bizzare.

Sorry Davie, don't agree mate. Look at MR cards, one big local ticket seller with an undercard of absolute crap.
Leeds: Warrington could have sold the place out himself, Nurse got handed the Commonwealth fight with Ryan and the rest made up of 3 Scots travelling down to nothing fights, Brian Rose in waste of time and a couple others nobody really was interested in.

1 entire show with the only real match making is making Josh's euro fight.

Show me a decent Matchroom undercard, mate.
