Considering some of your comments regarding the intelligence of other posters you are thick as fornicate mate.

Mayweather and Pac can demand the purses that mean a PPV is necessary - Bellew and Cleverley cannot.

To suggest that Bellew/Cleverly have the pedigree, quality and stature to demand the kind of purses that make PPV necessary is utter shite.

It is quite a simple conversation to the boxers, "here is the fight, here is the purse - do you want it or not?" - it is not as if there is some kind of public demand for this fight (like say Froch/Groves 2), or even if either boxer were particularly popular outside of their own towns.

If these 2 were not going to fight each other, then who else could they fight - especially for the money they are getting ? It is not as if they both have loads of options available to them.

It is quite simple really - rich boy Eddie is using this to test the water, if this gets through then it will open the floodgates for other below standard PPV events.

That's the point he's making. With the current purses, maybe the fight can't be made, but if you paid them less and lets be honest, neither are in a position to be making demands, it could be made without PPV. But that's an idea you have blindly dismissed as not possible, because it isn't the same as your viewpoint. It's a very simple point too, to make the numbers add up, you either have to bring more money in, or spend less. In this case they have tried to bring more money in, in an attempt to line the pockets of Hearn/Sky, by conning people out of their money. That is not the only way to do it though.

Comparing Mayweather-Pacquiao to Cleverly-Bellew is outright stupid. A fight between Floyd and Manny has to be PPV, because the money both would want for that fight can't be generated without PPV and neither could be convinced to take less money, as they are the biggest draws in boxing and the best paid fighters in the world, so they could make huge demands, as there is/was, huge demand to see the fight. Cleverly and Bellew on the other hand, aren't big draws, in the grand scheme of things are complete nobodies and there's no huge demand to see the fight, so they're in little position to make demands about what they're paid, this is the biggest money either can get, so they'll have to take what's on offer.

Some good points mate but again people forget they pay £12 a month every month which is the same as eddie having a Ppv every single month. Like iv said sky give eddie next to nothing for his shows so that's why he has made it Ppv.
