Maybe we look at PPV differently but surely its about who those listed are fighting? Yeah it helps that they are on the card but if they are in meaningless fights so what?

As for Gomezs' post agree very good points. I'm surprised at Sky being willing to risk this sort of alienation of a group of sports fans when they know their hold on football (presumably the premium viewing sport on tv?) has gone. They must be mad. If anything they should be trying to build themselves as THE home of sports for every other sport out there they can get hold of and tying them into long contracts before BT etc get there first.

Not at all, I always try to be honest when talking boxing, I have openly said how poor this show is and it should have been allot better to b on Ppv.

Yes I am a good friend of tony but to be honest this subject we have been debating is nothing to do with tony really, it's not like I'm saying tony will win and someone's saying cleverly will win. We are debating if the show is Ppv worthy and why it has been made Ppv,

I'm guessing and it's just my opinion but I think eddie has thought to himself
Bellew v cleverly is not quiet good enough for Ppv especially without them having a world
Title but it is a really good fight so if I pack the card and make it a huge night of great
Boxing then I will be able to make it Ppv and have another good night of boxing!

The problem is, he has made a big card and it has got big names on it but most of them are in
Uncompetative fights.
You will have to ask him why he made it Ppv as I am only making an educated guess but as
I said earlier this could have been an Amazing show and a Ppv event if he would have had
7 50/50 fights with top class opposition

I have put a few scousers on that card as its in liverpool but i was just giving a little sample of some good fights that wouldnt break the bank feel free to put up some of your own fights that you think would have been good on the card and easy affordable

I don't see any value in that hypothetical card above and beyond standard taxes and subscriptions. It's not PPV for me. The only boxers I've ever seriously considered paying PPV money for are Tyson, Lewis and Holyfield.

To be honest, I think I would probably buy that PPV. Primarily for Quigg v Galahad, but I'd say there's enough competitive fights on there to justify the price. Although it still wouldn't be a massively popular PPV, it definitely wouldn't be getting the huge backlash the current card is getting.

Not for me i'm afraid. I think Joshua v Johnson will just be a glorified sparring session like all Johnsons fights. Him lacking in ambition with Jpshua following him about.

I still don't think it's that great or good enough to justify the ppv. The main reason for this is that there is no stand out main event or even a fight I'm desperate to see.

The reason for ppv is to make fights that the public demand between stars of the sport that could not be made any other way.

All of the fights you have listed could be made with a standard sky sports card and none of the fights are anything to really sell to the public. I know you will say that this card could only be made via ppv but the problem for me is that I'm not interested enough in any of them to see that as value.

Updated- if they were staggered over a few weeks on sky I'd probably go out of my way to watch 2 of them

Personally none are stand-out PPV fights.

They are all very good fights don't get me wrong, but for them all on one night would be a waste.

I like to savour the build-ups / rivalries - and having them all thrown at me at once would lessen the experience.

In closing, I think they are all really solid domestic standard Sky fights, that would keep a subscriber happy if drip fed every couple of weeks or so in pairs.

About £90 including broadband which we've now switched to BT as we get a better speed and BT Sports free which show every big allegedly fight the Thursday afterwards.

It wasn't just this PPV, I'd been pissed off for a while that although I pay 25 quid for movies a month I have to shell out another 6 quid if I wanted to watch the newer Sky films.

It's a shame as I've always been happy with the actual product and have been with them about 12yrs.

IMO a PPV with Clev-Bellew headlining would require at least two other fights of a similar level, i.e. intriguing fringe world level fights between domestic rivals. Something like Quigg-Galahad and McDonnell-Hall II would have been viable options.
