Bernard Hopkins vs. Sergey Kovalev (and undercard)

Post by HomicideHenry »

Didn't see anyone make this yet... so here it is...

Btw... betting odds in Las Vegas and elsewhere around the world on the main event...

http://www.paddypower.com/bet/boxing/bo ... 90054.html

http://www.vegasinsider.com/boxing/odds/futures/

Most of the insiders are expecting Kovalev to win inside of three rounds... Hopkins is 2-1 underdog

Hopkins Last Five Matches:

Beibut Shumenov, W12
Karo Murat, W12
Tavoris Cloud, W12
Chad Dawson, L12
Chad Dawson, NC 2nd

Kovalev Last Five Matches:

Blake Caparello, KO 2nd
Cedric Agnew, KO 7th
Ismayl Sillah, KO 2nd
Nathan Cleverly, KO 4th
Cornelius White, KO 3rd

I'd be very surprised if Kovalev wins inside 3 rounds, he has power in spades but that's not always the best attribute and it's dangerous to bank on it in every fight.

Can't see Hopkins folding quicker than Cleverly somehow. If Kovalev does win by stoppage, it'll be from a body shot rather than a head shot imo.

Okay..... Vyacheslav Shabranskyy vs. Emil Gonzalez has started now...

(undercard begins)

Shabranskyy has some pretty good power (imo), and its Gonzalez mainly keeping away in round one.

Round two... Gonzalez is holding on... pretty one sided so far.

Never mind... fight was stopped...

Not much can be said of this... was just another mismatch... another "win"... for Shabranskyy

(to be honest I hope this whole card will be short fights, so we can get to the main event quickly)

Next fight on the card...

(Sorry boys, the stream I got keeps getting interrupted with commentary and segments with Steve Bunce)

He has to be the most long winded bastard I have ever seen on television... how do you Brits put up with him?

BTW.... other fights on the card (cus this stream didnt show until the Shabraskyy fight):

Sirotkin W6 Mitchell
Martin KO2 Gonzalez
Barrera TD4 Bryant
Hunter KO6 Ramirez
Glazkov KO7 Wilson

Abregu vs Ali, scheduled for ten, seems to be the last (and next) fight on the card before the main event...

(could be wrong, I keep checking the schedule of the event here on BoxRec, while watching Bunce jabber on)

I think, to save everyone's asses legally, Bunce and the gang are jabbering UNTIL the main event actually happens.

But the stream can be found on (stream2u.me)

I'm bored to tears and wish I actually tried harder in finding a better stream, or ordered the ppv lol

Guess there is some sort of delay going on at the arena.... 50 minutes between contests for whatever reason...

But guess its about to start up again here soon...

ROUND ONE.... ALI vs ABREGU....

passive round.... mostly jabs... lot of lateral movement...

not the kind of fight i wanna see after waiting over an hour of dead air and bunce jabbering...

ROUND THREE... ALI vs ABREGU....

the crowd is booing.... can't blame them after the long wait between fights...

no real action from these guys... such a pitiful performance and round, I'd call it "even"

ROUND FOUR.... ALI vs ABREGU....

Also just noticed this is a championship fight (WBO Inter-Continental), thats only TEN ROUNDS...

Historically, I dont believe such a thing has taken place since the 1920's...

And its more of the same... zzzzzz

I'm bored watching this. It's hard to say who's winning there's barely been a noteworthy punch thrown in four rounds.

ROUND FIVE.... ALI vs ABREGU....

(Btw, they are showing Hopkins and Kovalev warming up in the dressing rooms)

Might say, Hopkins looks rather confident, wearing light blue gloves with neon yellow on them, lol

Abregu is trying to be more aggressive... now and then getting through the guard, but Ali is back peddaling...

I'd say Abregu won that round... and the crowd still boos

(Bunce and company think Ali won the round, but these guys are doing next to nothing in there so its anyones guess)
