Excellent stuff
Re: Channel 5 to show Golovkin Vs. Murray
Its all very well it being on terrestrial television.... but Five need to PROMOTE the fact they've got it. Lets see some commercials etc.
Re: Channel 5 to show Golovkin Vs. Murray
Great news. The more television exposure the better.
Re: Channel 5 to show Golovkin Vs. Murray
Yes, but they've got to expose it. The only way I found out about the maxinutrition dates etc were through going on here. Five did not promote it at all, other than at the end of their boxing programming.pyenest77 wrote:Great news. The more television exposure the better.
They've got the rights to this one early, lets promote it!
Re: Channel 5 to show Golovkin Vs. Murray
Couldnt agree more. When the original Maxi-Nutrition tournament final was cancelled the promotion of the new date was non existant. A bit of social media promotion wouldnt go amiss. I know Mick tweets but cant recall seeing much of Channel 5.

Fantastic news for UK terrestrial TV!chad wrote:Great that this fight is on terrestrial television
You've got to feel that Golovkin is on the verge of super-stardom across the boxing world. Isn't Beterbiev on the undercard as well? Night of the big punchers
On a side-note - Have you heard anything about allegedly going HD on Virgin Media yet, Chad?
Re: Channel 5 to show Golovkin Vs. Murray
Virgin aren't interested in it until the HD channel goes full time. That was supposed to happen before the end of 2014 however all has gone quiet :(ScottDetonator wrote:Fantastic news for UK terrestrial TV!chad wrote:Great that this fight is on terrestrial television

Is good news they are showing it and agree with others it could do with a bit of promotion! Do we know who else is on the bill?
Re: Channel 5 to show Golovkin Vs. Murray
Martin Murray stepping in with one of the most dangerous fighters in the world and we are getting it for free on channel 5, while sky are making a PPV out of Bellew Cleverly. Can't make it up.
Great news though, that's a quality fight to have on terrestrial TV. Really hope Murray does himself proud, but I fear it will be another early night for Golovkin.

Boxing needs free TV and so VERY well done to Channel 5. Hopefully it will continue and they will build from this.

After all the hype sky have been giving golovkin this is quite funny. Great news for boxing fans and for the wider public.
Seem to remember that golovkin didn't rate that well on sky so they probably aren't that bothered!

Re: Channel 5 to show Golovkin Vs. Murray
Superb stuff from ch5,I agree that it deserves exposure,id love to see them do a 24/7 type show, especially from Murray's POV,let the casual fan get to know him and what he's about, also let the viewers know about Golovkin and how he's percieved by the boxing world,Gennady hasnt beaten a p4p fighter yet and may never will do but no doubt about it he's one of the most touted and feared boxers on the planet
Martin has about as much chance as anyone beating GGG,little but IF he was to pull off the miracle it would be good if terrestrial viewers can appreciate the magnitude of it

They know the cost of everything and the value of nothing.

Wow.
A year or so ago, Channel 5 was showing us Tyson Fury beating cruiser weight bin men and pretending it was a big fight. So this is impressive.

BOOM! Great news!
Wish Channel 5 would actually push some promotion of it but in any case I'll be spreading the word!

Great news. Surely because of the magnitude of the fight, Channel 5 will promote this accordingly.

Re: Channel 5 to show Golovkin Vs. Murray
Okay Channel 5 start banging the drum that you have another World title fight featuring one of the best Middleweights we have in Martin Murray fighting one of the most destructive fighters in boxing at the moment in GGG. You have the ingredients now make something out of it.
Re: Channel 5 to show Golovkin Vs. Murray
More great news. Channel 5 have agreed a deal with Sauerland to show Yoan Pablo Hernandez vs. Ola Afolabi on the 6th of December!
Also if you are a fan of MMA, 5* will be showing Tito Ortiz Vs. Stephan Bonner this Sunday night from 9pm.
Looks like Channel 5 are in the fight business since being taken over by Viacom a few months ago. Great news for fight fans!
