Rabchenko vs Mundine (Spoiler)

Post by stujones »

Looks like Rabchenko hype is over - lost a split decision to Mundine.... aint seen the fight.

He could have sat on his mandatory and awaited a world title shot, now it would seem to be a back to the drawing board and without TV revenue a huge blow to himself and Hatton promotions.

Mundine is like a bad cold that doesn't go away.

Didn't see it myself but going by twitter it seems a bit of a robbery.

The bits I've read seem to think it was a close (but fairish) decision. The round by round on the Aussie forum here suggested it could have gone either way by a point or so.

Sounds like Rabchenko came on strong and left it a bit too little too late (to be certain of the victory) so should probably win a rematch, but still not good form for someone who was considered of world class potential. Should have been dispatching Mundine fairly comfortably.

Crikey. Mundine has more lives than Peter Bonetti in a litter tray.

Mundine must be one of the most delusional idiots in boxing.

He still thinks a fight with Mayweather is on the horizon. I can't stand the guy fair play to him I thought Rabchenko would stop him.

Crikey, can't imagine many predicted a Mundine victory, I certainly didn't. Never been a fan of his at all, but fair play he's earned his stripes over the years. A lesser character would probably have retired after the Ottke fight.

Not a bad fighter Mundine. Just shy of top class in his day. Bit chinny but considering he came into the game late he has had a good career I think and still clearly has a bit left in the tank. He has always had a tendency to spout off a bit, but so what? A lot of fighters do.

I had Mundine to win by decision at 6.5. There was no way Mundine was going to lose a career ending fight in his backyard. I know Mundine is smart enough to realise there is absolutely no chance of a mayweather fight.
