Quickest finishers - Non Heavyweights

Post by Prediction...Pain »

What fighters finished their fights (stoppage, KO TKO) whatever the quickest and most effectively/efficiently? I would assume the logic is, finish quick and fight again asap and just truck people and get paid.
I'm most interested in 135-160 lbs'ers. Cheers fellas

Hearns was devastating when he had his man hurt.

Arguello was less explosive and more measured but in pretty sure everyone i ever saw him hurt was stopped within a minute.

Saad was remorseless once he had the ascendacy albeit not as technical as the above two, it was almost an attitude with him, once he got on top he was just going to grind you down.

Alfonso Zamora, mexican bantamweight burned brightly for a while. He didnt let too many off the hook. Imagine the confidence you would have if you could bang like that?

Zamora was a very good amatuer as well, I think he got an Olympic silver.

That lunatic who killed his wife and then himself (his name eludes me) had the knack of the knockout.

Do you mean Edwin Valero? Ruben Olivares could bang too 79 ko's-that was a good era for Mexican little guys-Carlos Zarate 63 early from 66 wins. Getting hit by him must have been like an electric shock. Pipino Ceuvas was a good finisher too and so was Jose Napoles.

:TU: thanks Broomhall, it was Valero I was thinking of.

Olivares was a serious hitter, Zarate too; I've not seen much of Cuevas apart from a youtube montage but he had very heavy hands.

A current fighter who starts quickly and has a predatory instinct is David Lemieux.

And Zarates mustache would have hammered Cravats commendable, but somewhat effete English liprug.
