I thought we might get robbed from a good fight due to the early KDs and Pulev remaining at striking distance and not punching... But the 3rd KD woke Pulev up and gave us a nice fight indeed!!

Dude got laid out, but he did more in five rounds than most of Wlad's opponents manage over longer fights.

He was on a mission...his left hook was stunning, an underrated punch from him.
With either hand, if he lands it cleanly, he has the most power in the heavyweight division.
He doesn't club fighters to death, swinging wildly...he drills them hard.

Pulev did indeed come to fight, to the point he tried to draw Klitschko into a dirty fight early on..Maybe hoping for a DQ win??
To his credit he did land a few big shots after realizing that wouldn't work, but Wlad was never in trouble.

clean, but still ... and he stood his ground. respect
to pulev, even after having been knocked down
several times he kept coming.

Pulev is IMO 1 of Wlad's 4 best opponents in his current title run, along with Haye, Povetkin, and Byrd. This was surely the best ass-whooping amongst those four wins. It is overall a good win to improve his legacy a bit.

Absolutely agree. I actually think that tall fighters are easier targets for Wlad, though they have more chances to land their punches too. Pulev landed some good punches, Wach hurt Wlad with a right hand in the fifth round. Thompson had some success in landing punches in their first fight. Wladimir's fights against tall opponents are more entertaining than against the smaller ones. The same thing could also be said about Lennox Lewis (besides Akinwande fight)

That combo Wladimir ate just before the knockout must have been the best that landed on him since Brewster saw his chance when he was out of gas 10 years ago.
I do question Pulevs chin a bit though, compared to what some other opponents took from either of the Klitschkos he was down quick and often. Surprisingly by the left too, that vicious right in round 3 looked a lot more like a potential game ender to me. That Wladimirs left hook is not to be underrated is something Ray Austin knows a lot about.
Anyways, good fight!

Good observation. Yeah wow, what fast power he has in that left hand. I had seen him beat opponents with the left before, but today they seemed so crisp and absolutely devastating.
Wlad is a smart fighter with outstanding trainers....and a huge punch :)

Definitely Wlad's most entertaining fight that he didn't lose in over a decade, but he still leaped into clinches WAY too much; refs allow him to do that way too much (and then warn his opponents when they rabbit punch him in the clinches)

I am not sure you watched the fight...Wlad did not "leap into clinches"...he flattened Pulev in round 5, after knocking him down 3 other times before that....
I believe Pulev was trying to pull Klitschko into a dirty fight. The ref did his job and let them fight...and Wlad blitzed Pulev.

Remember way back when he was Knocked Out 3 times...he's learned much since then.
A green fighter was taught how to minimize his weaknesses, and maximize his strengths. Isn't that what every great fighter does?
He's not going to ignore what's worked for him for so very long.
Although, as most people here noticed, Wlad was very aggressive and looking to KO Pulev sooner rather than later....and he did.
Looked so much different today, maybe a new style but it'll probably depend on who he fights in his twilight (3-5 more fights, maybe?)
