Post by denzil1970 »

He telling everyone about his unbeaten record 50 fights or something , didn't he do this a while ago and was wearing t shirts to tell everyone ? Well with Macklin last night he should learn to button it !
Yes he as some great fighters but we don't need him counting how many wins they notch up

He seems a decent enough bloke to be fair. Winning runs like these often involve about half a dozen 50-50 fights at best though. The rest will be heavily weighted in his fighters favour.

Met him when Champs Camp was still in Moss Side - a really nice person with a lot of time for everyone, I am very happy to see his rise to prominence as a trainer, I can see how he gets the best out of his boxers. :TU:

Boxing is full of ego's, and that includes trainers. Can't blame anyone for shouting about their success.

I know a couple of amateur trainers who say that they get more fulfilment out of it than they did from fighting, so it must be hard not to shout about it when your lads are winning.

Yeah i find him a bit arrogant tbh

After the john murray fight, a man who got him loads of wins on that 50 streak, he was a complete knob

I actually find joe alright, he lives and breaths boxing he has his reasons with john Murray fallout which is fair point but joe isn't everyone's cup of tea, end of the day boxing is full of nob heads and back stabbers so who cares what people think !

I wouldn't say he's arrogant enough to start a thread about it.

Nothing wrong with being obsessed with winning!! The amount of time the man spends in the sport justifies any action he takes.

What did he do post Murray fight?

I know they had some falling out but can't really remember

Murray was one of the main/if not the main fighter that brought him to prominence imo a few years back

Joe Gallagher strikes me as very good trainer and who can put together match winning tactics.

Steve Bunce did a really enjoyable interview with Gallagher on allegedly a couple of weeks back. It delivered a good insight into Joe's considerable knowledge of the sport.
