Is cleverly getting massively underrated
While bellew and his punching power gets spoken about like he is the 2nd coming of razor ruddock. Does Cleverly have his number and will he break his heart yet agin in front of his home crowd?

Yes, cleverly beats him hands down this time IMOMichael bennt wrote:While bellew and his punching power gets spoken about like he is the 2nd coming of razor ruddock. Does Cleverly have his number and will he break his heart yet agin in front of his home crowd?

Re: Is cleverly getting massively underrated
To me Bellew has looked a little fragile at cruiser. He has been shook a few times, but that's probably because he was fighting 'world class opposition'.
Cleverly is a spent force though. 190 would of suited him better.
Can anyone imagine what haye would have done to either of these at cruiser? Even Enzo Mac would have probably beaten them both back in his prime (07).

Re: Is cleverly getting massively underrated
I'm not sure Cleverly has the belief in himself any more, but I would like nothing more for him to beat big mouth Bellew in Liverpool again.
Re: Is cleverly getting massively underrated
If the loss to Kovalev significantly damaged his confidence, I wonder if Kovalev's post-Clev success, especially his domination of Hopkins, helped restore some of it. I noticed that Clev made a couple tweets about Kovalev's most recent win, one of which declared him to be a 'beast'. Such an interpretation could make it easier for him to believe that even very good fighters can be convincingly beaten by Kovalev and that his case is an example of that.
Re: Is cleverly getting massively underrated
The longer the build up has gone on the more i've started leaning towards Clev
Fingers crossed he shuts the gob shite up, Bellew will be unbearable if he wins this one

Really looking forward to this fight now. Hope it`s as good as the first one.
in the first fight I was rooting for Bellew, but total opposite in this one.

Re: Is cleverly getting massively underrated
Bellew seems to take a lot of belief from Cleverly's loss to Kovalev. At least Cleverly tried to fight, whereas Bellew ran from Stevenson for 6 rounds then got done. Think Bellew gets stopped on his feet late.
Re: Is cleverly getting massively underrated
Evens on Cleverly to win does seem a very decent price to me. I think Bellew can only win by stoppage and I'm not sure he has the power to trouble Cleverly overly. Clev certainly took his best shots at light heavy.

I'd back Enzo at his best to spark both. Haye, well, it would be abuse. He would destroy both easily, quite possibly one after the other.dbf wrote:To me Bellew has looked a little fragile at cruiser. Re: Is cleverly getting massively underrated
I think Bellew will stop Cleverly in the rematch due to him hitting harder at this higher weight I think. He was wrecking people as a heavyweight as an amateur which is basically the equivalent of cruiserweight in the pro's so I have a feeling that whilst Nathan was able to take his power at 175 he wont be able to at 200.
Re: Is cleverly getting massively underrated
You may well be right although if he can take his power it's hard to see Bellew outboxing Clev.lefty wrote:I think Bellew will stop Cleverly in the rematch due to him hitting harder at this higher weight I think. Cleverly is a decent boxer - just not world class. I'd say he was overrated earlier in his career but the tide of opinion has swung to far the other way now.

Re: Is cleverly getting massively underrated
Bellew was wrecking domestic level amateurs in the unpaid ranks. Much is made of his amateur record, and its a great, great achievement for sure, but he wasn't cracking the chins of the top, top amateurs on the world scene. Re: Is cleverly getting massively underrated
Watched Cleverly at the open workout today and he looks huge compared to when he was at LH. His shoulders have broudened and his punches were much harder when hitting the bag and pads. May the best man win and I hope if TB loses or wins he respects his opponent.

I don't really understand this thread being honest?????
Is cleverly getting massively underrated?
Cleverly is slightly favourite to win the fight so how on earth can he be underrated? On paper this is a 50/50 fight no one is saying cleverly doesn't have a chance, I fact just looking at this thread most believe cleverly will easily win,
I have my own opinion and to be honest I think people will be shocked how easy this fight is goingn to be, I believe bellew inside 4 I think clev will want to exchange and in doing so will get knocked clean out, just my opinion of course I may be wrong but I will say this, the first fight was very close and bellew was out boxing cleverly for allot of the fight but tired towards the back end of the fight due to tiredness from being weight drained.
The way I see it is when they first fought cleverly was a world champion (on paper) who had fought some decent names like murrat and was allot more experienced than bellew, he was also allot confier at the weight, this time around bellew is on a same playing field as in experience wise and also allot more stronger at the weight,
It should be a great fight but there's no way this fight goes the full 12

I think you're right in your prediction. As much as I don't want it to happen, Bellew knocks out Cleverly on Saturday.righthook wrote:I don't really understand this thread being honest?????

Re: Is cleverly getting massively underrated
If Bellew was so weight drained which ive no reason to doubt, why did he continue at LHW after losing to Cleverly?
I take weight making excuses with a pinch of salt as pretty much every fighter claims its an issue, but 100% of the time its after a loss
Plus if Cleverly was only a paper champ, then by that notion,Bellew hasnt held any titles as a pro

I just don't see the hunger in clevs eyes. He may be beasting it in the gym, but he just looks comfortable to me. Hoping to be wrong as I think he has a lot of unrealised potential.
I see Bellew taking this..but hoping clev wins comfortably to renew faith in him.

I see it the complete opposite, I believe this will be a fight dominated by Clev, finishing Bellew in 6 or 7 rounds.righthook wrote:I don't really understand this thread being honest?????

he continued because he believed he won the fight and he expected an immediate rematch. he also was already ranked high in the division so he had options.handsofstone wrote:If Bellew was so weight drained which ive no reason to doubt, why did he continue at LHW after losing to Cleverly?

everyone knows that the light heavy to cruiser weight jump is ridiculous, almost 2 stone. bellew continued at light heavy until it was physically impossible to make the weight. just ask yourself this how many of your friends or people u knoe are 6 foot 3 plus and are 12 stone 7? never mind being that weight and competing against top class boxers. every man and his dog could see bellew was weight drained theres been countless threads over that exact topic.
Re: Is cleverly getting massively underrated
Maybe underrated in merseyside but the rest of the country are leaning towards Cleverly on polls. I'm a merseysider so obviously i'm going for an easy Bellew ko victory.
