Andrade is a new Quillin ?

Post by ikorolev »

It looks like European virus of withdrawals is spreading in the U.S. Anrade withdraws from the Charlo fight after deciding to not fight Korobov a couple months ago:

You think Andrade is a new Quillin based on that article?

As usual the best fights always seem to fall through. The part in the article about his wife/gf being due to give birth around that time is a poor excuse though because when he signed for the fight he would of known that already.

I heard it was contract deal where he wanted more cheese. Same crap every time with these guys. Nothing about either Charlo would make people duck them. I mean, very good boxers but not k.o. punchers honestly

???

Isn't Andrade trying to cross the street to Showtime from HBO, but he still has one fight left in his contract to fulfil?
That's clearly what the BS article seems to be saying, so it is a stretch to say this is Andrade pulling out. Especially since article said ths Charlo may be rescheduled for January 10 or 17.

Peter Quillin vacated his WBO belt rather than face Korobov...big difference.
Good points.
And, as far as the Korobov fight, Andrade was willing to move up in weight but they wouldn't come anywhere close to offering him what they were offering Quillin.

That's a little unfair to be honest. The reason being that in Quillins contract there is some kind of stipulation that Haymon can decide whether he fights on a particular promoters show and thus Haymon wouldnt let him fight on a rocnation event. I remember Dan Rafael putting out pics showing elements of the contract that showed that.

It is pretty convenient to hide behind Haymon's contract. Why did Quillin sign such contract ?

... and if he knew from the very beginning that he couldn't fight, why did he wait for so long to announce that ? Seems like disrespect towards a fellow boxer.

Bute and Arreola withdrew from their December bouts too. Some kind of boxing Ebola virus is going around.

If political landscape didn't allow Quillin to fight, he should have said it right away instead of waiting till he was stripped.

Boxers are adults. Nobody forced Quillin or others to sign with Haymon. By signing, they knowingly refused to fight a bunch of top fighters.

Yes, I am somewhat idealistic and hoping that things will become better and sh1t like Haymon is swept away from boxing. I applaud to DLH and Hopkins for breaking ice with Arum. I hope that some laws are adopted preventing TV networks/promoters/managers to restrict boxers from fighting best possible opposition. I realize that most of that won't happen, but it is still pleasant to hope.

... and once again, Quillin is an adult responsible for his actions, so if it looks like he is making excuses and disrespecting opponents, then he is responsible too.

In case you have not noticed, boxers that get the money they think they deserve rarely refuse to fight anyone.
