Joseph Parker vs Irineu Costa Beato Jnr

Post by bogan whisperer »

Joseph Parker's next opponent looks likely to be Brazilian Irineu Costa Beato Junior. Beato has 15 wins and 1 loss to his name and has won 13 times by stoppage.

Parker was originally to fight Vinnie Maddalone

Beato Jnr on paper looks to be another Built up Brazilian feb a bunch of soft local opposition. Its not suprising the moment he stepped it up he was defeated. Having said that he travelled to Germany to fight a pretty handy and vastly improved Christian Hammer and lost on points over 12 rounds. So in doing so demonstrates he isn't a complete walk over. I suspect he'll give Parker a few rounds of resistance before Parkers jab, hand speed and nice combination punching start taking its toll.

Beaton Jnr may have gone the distance. But Hammer won every round on all 3 cards.

I watched the Costa Beato-Hammer fight on Eurosport a couple of weeks ago. It was very lacklustre - Costa Beato was barely throwing punches. His record flatters him.

I would have prefered him to fight Maddalone - Vinnie really comes to fight.

Kevin Barry is saying its Parkers best performance. Personally I reckon the Brazilian was just a punch bag, the only time he looked to land and was aggressive he got ko'd . It was a nice finish though.

Parker looked sharper than I've seen him previously. His hand speed and accuracy for a big man is first class. It was by no means a flawless performance but still a very good one.

 if the tables get sold and PPV make the dough - then hey what the heck and who really gives a fornicate -- thats the attitude and crowds flock to watch an execution , then hey, it must be great "boxing" .... a minority opinion on a purist forum wont really matter ... broken record this but thats the way it is

Unfortunately that's the problem with boxing in NZ, a cracking bill one week with every fight competitive (super 8/Cameron-Meehan) to this pile of sh1t of a show. I really can't believe people paid 40 bucks for it. More money than sense.

Two of Australasia's best talents against a couple of Brazilians nobodies heard of, 4 league/union players (I don't get why duco think people give a hoot about this anymore, surely its been done to death) some fat guy duco keep rolling out, and a couple of e list nz celebrities. Have I missed anything? No - that was it. Complete dross.

tsmithy50 can I look forward to seeing you at the ABA this Saturday night?

NZ Womens Title fight Daniella Smith VS Gentiane Lupi - 10x2min

They fought a cracker 6 rounder recently now its for the national title of 10 rounds should be another good scrap

Anthony Taylor VS Jordan Syme - Taylor is a former NZ Comm games rep and current NZ Welterweight Champion he takes on South Pacific Kickboxing champ Jordan Syme. 4x3min of explosive action

Ricky Murphy VS Fili Mailata - Murphy is a Shane Cameron protege of over 70 amateur fights. Currently 3-0 he meets trial horse Mailata who over 4 rounds will make things interesting.

Good night with 2 up and comming Nz prospects with a solid main ! Not bad on a shoe string budget ;-)

I've heard Rohit Singh is looking for a comeback opponent, problem is you'd have to get yourself to Bangladesh as its one of the few places left he can get commissioned, oh you'll also be expected to take a dive.
