Audley became European champion,

not bad for somebody that is regarded as one of the worst heavyweights of the modern era.

Neither are mutually exclusive.

Harrison was indeed once the European champion & he is indeed one of the worst HW 'prospects' of recent times.

Leon Spinks was also once the linear HW Champion of the world, but he's never been highly regarded as an HW either.
