UK Current MW Top 5

Post by danamba7 »

With Macklin's recent loss, BJS Eubank Jnr imminent and Murray to face GGG. Who's in your current top 5 MWs in the UK?

1. Murray
2. BJS
3. Ryder
4. Macklin
5. Blackwell

Macklin could retire so I'd have Etches come in at 5. Eubank Jnr could prove he should be in the top 5 even if he loses a close, competitive fight.

If Maclkin retires and with Barker gone its a real shame these 2 and Murray never crossed paths,

100%. Could have had some real wars and would have been interesting to see who came out as the top MW.

macklin could have one fight left as a pay day in Ireland but his work rate has dropped and he has declined rapidly

I think spike would also knock him out now

1. Murray
2. Macklin
3. BJS
4.Ryder
5. Eubank jnr

That's how i'd rank them as of now based on what they have achieved or just talent level. I think Eubank Jnr would beat Ryder and will beat Saunders though. The Saunders one i'm somewhat on the fence on though but I do think he'd beat Ryder for sure.

And they would have all made some good money from it too.

Macklin's recent defeat is rather making that "Middleweights - The Gloves Are Off" tv programme look rather all mouth and trousers - which to be honest it somewhat felt like that at the time - even when taking Barker's unforeseen retirement into account.

Pity about Macklin......read the Boxing News report about his last fight and it definitely had an end-of-the-line flavour to it. I think Etches has to figure in there somewhere.....he's not had a defining fight yet....but that will come.
