What depresses me most about the full article (the link within the link) is the comments. All these idiots actually think SHE's the one in the wrong. You remember when christy mack got beaten half to death and stabbed by her MMA fighter boyfriend, and there was all these fornicating scumbags saying she deserved it in comments?

I have little nieces. I worry for them as they grow older. The attitude some guys have... You should treat your fellow humans with respect. Women aren't your property...

Floyd has all the money and the possessions in the world, but he's the sort of person who makes me want to believe in god, because at least then I'd know the fornicator'd be going to hell.

USA Today quotes Floyd Mayweather's son: "My father is a coward"

Life with Floyd Mayweather: 'I was a battered woman'

The article includes a video interview with Josie Harris, the mother of Floyd's three children.

Anonymous internet trolls generally have a strong hatred towards women in general. It's one of the darker pieces of our nature that the rise of the internet has exposed.

A lot of comments sections online are disgusting. That recent video someone posted about where the guy slaps the girl on the train, there was a load of comments about how it was "probably all caused by the white guy" who walks away from the scene right at the start. Youtube is full of racism. Most videos of a fight on youtube is full of trolling about the ethnicity of a fighter... It's an issue. Reading comments sections on line makes you think humanity is fucked.

At least on forums like this trolls get dealt with.

Punches the mother of his children, hugs his enemies during fights. Can't read a book. Mayweather's problem is very obviously dyslexia.

I agree. But it's hard to make men realize that their actions and opinions are reprehensible when men have been taught about the GREATNESS OF MEN from day one. We overly glorify violence and sexual dominance and then stand back and watch the murder and rape numbers increase.

If it's a god who appreciates kindness and love, then yes, Floyd would be going to hell. But that evil "god" guy from the bible ... Floyd would probably be one of his favorites somehow.

I'd have serious reservations remaining a fan of someone like this. I guess the next step is being a murderer like Valero (and you still have people who are fans of Valero)

Floyd fans should take a good look at themselves in the mirror before continuing their endless defense of the self proclaimed TBE

Floyd is a total coward. Wife beating and avoids anyone pro boxer who may actually give him a fight.

The family all seem like total trash though; can't wait for Gloyd to go bankrupt

What does being a fan of "The Fighter" Floyd have to do with his personal life? I'm a huge fan of Floyd as a fighter, yet can't stand him as a human being. I will simply will not discredit Floyd as a fighter based on out of the ring antics when he's one of the hardest working and talented figures in the sport of boxing. I am a boxing fan (I don't watch boxing or a fan of a guy because he has a good personality, I watch boxing!) and I will separate Floyds out of the ring life from his boxing career. That doesn't mean I like Floyd as a person or agree with his out of the ring problems.

SRR is considered by many as the greatest boxer to ever grace this earth and he beat his wife on a consistent bases. The only difference is today women have more rights, you have the media and it's a totally different world. Jake Lamotta also beat his wife on many occasions, but back then it was of the norm for a man to rough up their wife if they felt they were out of line with little not no consequences with the law. I'm not saying it's ok, I was taught to never physically or emotionally harm a women, but in boxing there's a laundry list of fighters who abused women physically and many of them are among some of the best to do it.

I don't have to take a look at myself, I know what I am and have my own beliefs and morals. Me being a fan of Floyd as a fighter has absolutely no bearing on my everyday life. Me being a fan of Floyd has a fighter has nothing to do with me wanting to live his lifestyle or supporting his actions. I'm my own person and I'm a boxing fan, I don't follow this sport or love this sport because of fighters "personalities".

Agreed - I rate Floyd as a fighter, but he does seem to have some reprehensible aspects to his persona, chief among them his relationship to women.

One doesn't impinge on the other for me.

Violent crime rates have seen significant decline over the past couple of decades.

Coverage of said events, especially when they involve celebrities, has probably markedly increased. That's not to say it's an acceptable thing when it happens, but I think it's important to keep things in perspective.

Let's be frank, by it's nature combat sports, and in fact professional sport generally, is going to attract some fairly poorly balanced people - to be the best you have to have an almost autistic dedication to your craft, at the expense of developing the other aspects of your personality - add into that Floyd's incredibly screwed up background, and it's small wonder he's got a very ill adjusted attitude to the world. He's the centre of his own universe with some seriously grandiose tendencies to say the least.
