After today, Nathan. Was previously on the fence as like them both but Bellend's big gob has gone too far today.
Re: Clev v Bellew
What was it that Bellew said about young girls to Cleverly? I saw you mention that in another thread.MarkMcBurney wrote:After today, Nathan. Was previously on the fence as like them both but Bellend's big gob has gone too far today.

Re: Clev v Bellew
Ive went neutral,i suppose it'd be quite funny to see Bellew eat humble pie after another loss to Cleverly but unless theres a home fighter or a brit vs foreigner when it comes to most fights i just like to see a good fight, regardless of what shennanigans have gone beforehand,it means nothing, for some its genuine, and for some its bluff to promote a fight or to gain a mind advantage
There are exceptions,Broner, the old Chisora and Hopkins come to mind but Bellew and Fury and the ilk are mostly hot air as their post fight interviews usually tell

Re: Clev v Bellew
For the record i think it'll be even better than the first fight and Cleverly takes it again,I originally thought points but he looks massive and Bellew likes a stagger and i fancy Nathan to have the skill to finish him offhandsofstone wrote:Ive went neutral,i suppose it'd be quite funny to see Bellew eat humble pie after another loss to Cleverly but unless theres a home fighter or a brit vs foreigner when it comes to most fights i just like to see a good fight, regardless of what shennanigans have gone beforehand,it means nothing, for some its genuine, and for some its bluff to promote a fight or to gain a mind advantage

Didn't hear the lead up but Bellew was muttering with a smirk "seen any young girls lately? Young girls...not cool. Not cool."lefty wrote:What was it that Bellew said about young girls to Cleverly? That was after asking during the presser whether he'd attended any AA meetings lately.
Pillock.
Re: Clev v Bellew
Talking about someone's alchohol problems is one thing (still classless) but then insinuating that somebody is a peadophile which is what it sounds like Bellew was doing there is taking it way too far.MarkMcBurney wrote:Didn't hear the lead up but Bellew was muttering with a smirk "seen any young girls lately? Re: Clev v Bellew
Never heard Bellew respond to Furys outburst about him being Prices bitch. Wonder why that is?
The first fight I wanted Bellew all day day long. Since then he has proved himself to be a complete bell end, full of shite and completely boring in the ring. I hope Cleverley knocks him out. I ain't no big fan of Nathan either.

I want Cleverly to win, decent fella, humble and not full of crap, unlike that gob shite Bellew, who i think has lost the plot now, trying to wind your opponent up is one thing, dragging up comments like that yesterday is vile. ![[icon_shame.gif] :shame:](./images/smilies/icon_shame.gif)
Re: Clev v Bellew
Clev.
Initially I did want Bellew to win when the fight was first announced. I was growing to actually quite like Tony, with the whole "wearing his heart on his sleeve" way that he presents himself.
But, some of his antics over the past few weeks have put me off him, and him giving a rollicking to Steve Bunce recently was the final icing on the cake.
Really hope that Clev beats him... And beats him convincingly.

If you watch from about 4:20 onwards he goes through the likely order.

Re: Clev v Bellew
Like many others on here, I used to quite like Bellew. Unfortunately he seems to have turned into a whining, paranoid, insecure bully. His ridiculous overblown pre-fight bluster is bad enough, but his consistently piss-poor, safety first displays just add insult to injury.
Cleverly to win by knockout is the only acceptable outcome.

Bellew is a nob
But he is trying to sell it (£)- if he wins and then lands a world title fight v Huck etc all will be forgotten and we are all behind him

Re: Clev v Bellew
I have watched boxing, with a passion, since 1985 and cannot recall too many times that I wanted someone to lose as bad as I do for this fight. I pray that Clev spanks the shit out of Bellew and cannot bear the thought of a Bellew win and him feeling he has justified all the stupid things he says. His post fight interviews will be a nightmare.
I actually used to think he was ok or at least I was not too bothered either way about him but his interviews, that tiresome long winded bullshit that he spiels is so annoying, hateful, contradictory, unintelligent and bears no relation to reality. Then he says shit like he did about the Boxing Asylum podcast that they have no right to talk about him as they have not done what he has etc, well that is such shit, I assume then that he never sits around talking about Everton as he has never played professional football or said anything about the government as he has never been an MP
Now the other thing is, I am not like a fan of Clev and actually find him arrogant and also not too likeable either and it reminds me of something I heard last week which was about Katie Price and it was, "How much of a real big pudendum must you be to make Peter Andre seem like the likeable one?" and so one must ask a question here about Bellew, "How much of a total fcuking arsehole must you be that I want Nathan Cleverly to win more than I have ever wanted someone to win?"

Re: Clev v Bellew
I was browsing through some old Boxing News's from May 2009 the other day (boy it seemed so much better than todays) and there was a small interview with Bellew where he talked of Cleverly being a future opponent down the line and described Cleverly as a good boxer and "a good kid." I really can't see what Cleverly has said or done since to upset Bellew so much - was there a De La Hoya/Vargas snow incident? - which makes me feel his "hate" is totally contrived.

Bellew is the biggest moaner/complainer in British Boxing. Hope Cleverly beats him convincingly so he cannot moan about the outcome. He is so average.

he does seem to have put a lot of muscle on his upper body. i even wonder if he's a bit top-heavy, his legs don't look proportionately developed to me....Lion-Heart wrote:Cleverly KO

"The bad blood goes back to 1993, when Vargas worked out in De La Hoya's camp. De La Hoya was a year removed from winning an Olympic gold medal. Vargas, who looked up to De La Hoya, was a hotshot amateur on the verge of winning a U.S. National title and three years away from his own Olympic berth.
As legend has it, De La Hoya gave Vargas the cold shoulder when he tried to approach him after a sparring session. But what really angered Vargas is the now-infamous snowbank story.
Vargas was jogging on an icy mountain path in Big Bear when he slipped and fell into a snowbank. Supposedly, he spotted De La Hoya jogging toward him and stretched out his arm expecting some help getting up. But De La Hoya laughed and jogged on. The incident has haunted Vargas all these years and ignited the feud."
