I must say, signed up for allegedly the other day, and money well spent, lots of classic fights, and good coverage of domestic and international fights on rerun, not to mention Pacman v Algieri which I will be watching later.

Ok, so the studio bits are very grating to say the least, bordering on juvenile, but overall, very good channel.

Yeah let's vote with our feet. There will definitely be ways to catch it online live, or else watch the action tomorrow on DailyMotion or Youtube.

If I could pay £5 to watch such an event online or through my NOW TV box I'd be happy to. But not £17. In theory, Nox Bation would be much better value (recently increased to £12 a month) if only Wrank Farren had a better stable. They're still likely to do great numbers this month especially with the handbags between Eubank Jr and BJ Saunders added to the Fury Chisora rematch

Money isn't the issue mate, I've already spent 4 times the PPV amount buying (admittedly a sh!tload of) beers & takeaway for tonight. It's not like many of us can't afford 17 quid, the problem is the precedent it will set if we all buy such a sub-standard event.

I don't follow that logic at all. Of course I'm going to watch standard Sky Sports boxing shows, that's the main reason I pay a fvcking subscription every month. This card is simply a few standard shows combined into one show & charged at a premium, any idiot can see that.

In the past I've chipped in with my mates for practically all the big PPV's and had some great nights. But they were big event's Naz, Hatton, Lewis, big fights in the states etc. This is just a piss take IMO, maybe I'd cough up a fiver but that's about it. Bad thing is if it does sell well, this will be the sign of things to come and I think people pay enough for Sky as it is.

Yes, I can afford it, but on principle, I will not pay a premium for what is a domestic dust up - certainly not one of this calibre. It's a good fight, possibly will be as good as the first one, but that does not mean it should command a bloody 17 quid price tag, - that is ludicrous.

Hopefully, this dies on it's arse, and we don't have this becoming a regular affair.

I wonder whether Sky are paying less out for fights now - maybe this is a reason why this fight is PPV, I am guessing also both fighters are looking for a big payday as well. I haven't followed the build up, so I've no idea what the purses are, there must be an element of PPV money contributing I'd have thought?

Depends on how often they overcharge, only a mug keeps going to a shop that overcharges for everything.

I've not had a sky subscription for 2 years. I'll happily pay for allegedly as it's a dedicated boxing channel, I don't really follow other sports enough to pay for Sky Sports, and then pay on top for their fights.

Quite right. I do have some sympathy for those who have crumbled - it's tough following a niche sport at the best of times - but if the 'hardcore' fans start paying for this sh!t, there's just no realistic future for boxing tv coverage outside of PPV.
