Re: Khytrov KO 1 Rose
Outstanding prospects usually don't fight each other early in their careers, so fights against Murata and Magomedov are unlikely. For better known contender level opponents like Lemieux or Chudinov, Khytrov is too much of a risk. The same with Eubank Jr if he beats Saunders. That leaves Johnson, Guerrero and Adama with Guerrero being the easiest due to his glass chin.

He should fight Ogogo. He was robbed badly against him in London, so there is unfinished business between them. I think Khytrov will KO him early this time.

Ogogo will likely avoid Yevgen at all costs. He knows that he would end up on canvas learning to count to 10.Boxing Writer wrote:He should fight Ogogo. He was robbed badly against him in London, so there is unfinished business between them. I think Khytrov will KO him early this time.

That fight was in 2011. I think Murata has improved much more than Khytrov has since then and is a much more adaptable fighter. If and when they fight I am pretty confident that Murata will beat Khytrov.ikorolev wrote:This looks like a good enough yardstick test to me:

They fought like professional boxers, and with professional judging it would be a wide win for Yevgen.
Re: Khytrov KO 1 Rose
Hopefully, we will see them fight in a year or two. I disagree that Murata would win now, but it certainly looks like Murata's handlers have more confidence in him than Khyrov's handlers in Yevgen and are moving Murata faster. Khytrov's handlers should not repeat Korobov's team mistakes where Matt was moved too slow and partially lost motivation/fire. Korobov will probably win a belt soon but he will likely lose it to Golovkin soon after that, probably without being able to even make it competitive.
Re: Khytrov KO 1 Rose
Khytrov is being moved well so far in my view. He's had seven fights in under a year and his opposition has been fairly good given his pro experience, with multiple steps up along the way. Murata has been a pro longer but has two fewer bouts and I believe it's arguable that he's fought better opposition. Several of his opponents had very inflated records (like his next opponent, who despite being 24-4 lost nearly every round to and was stopped by a clubfighter in his last bout) and his high BoxRec ranking is largely due to his win over Akio Shabata, who is somehow at #18 despite having no notable wins, beating only Japanese opponents in a division that is very weak domestically, faring worse than each of Murata's other opponents, and being stopped two years before at 154 by Charlie Ota. In my opinion the trio of Rose, Fortune, and Chatman is not clearly inferior to any trio of Murata's opponents that you could form.

Fair enough. What do you think about great lateral movement (almost a la Lomachenko) he showed in the amateur Murata fight and which he is not showing anymore ?crusader wrote:Khytrov is being moved well so far in my view. Re: Khytrov KO 1 Rose
He obviously hasn't shown that type of movement professionally. Perhaps his skills have eroded or he's fallen in love with power, but it also may be that he hasn't moved like that because he hasn't been put in a situation where he felt he needed to; it could be that if he fights a strong fighter like Murata who presses him and isn't quickly overwhelmed by his power he'll show that extra dimension. I imagine that we'll learn more when he steps up again.

Okane would be a step down from his last two opponents and even less durable that would be a waste of time. Han would be cool.barron71 wrote:haha so funny about T. Johnson One of the promoters for Ievgen wants that fight bad!
Don't see it happening unless on HBO co feature. Gary Shaw is his promoter and he will want to be paid.
I am thinking Okane from England and Han from TX. Not sure if these guys will fight. Still looking at guys and enjoying the win.
Will know in the weeks to come.

Wow, what a tremendous KO. Khytrov has got to be one of the best prospects in boxing.
