What I found poor was yes clev's lack of punching was dreadful but tony had 12 rounds to figure out which way Nathan was ducking yet still completely missed every time

Re: How many rounds did Clev win?
thats your reply. bellew wasnt much better
bellew was a 1000x better, cleverly 5hit himself and ran all fight he ducked and dived and wouldnt move his hands off his face. he fought exactly how a journeyman fights. cleverly was all talk....... "im going to spank him" you have to throw a punch to spank someone. cleverly is finished bellew said from the start he will retire cleverly and i believe he has, i cant see him coming back.
i feel sorry for the welsh fans who traveled to liverpool. he should give them all a refund

Re: How many rounds did Clev win?
Bellew was clearly better, not '1000 times' though clearly!
Cleverly was more shit than Tony at the end of the day - Clev was stood in front of Bellew for 4 or 5 rounds doing nothing and Tony couldn't land anything of note really.
Bellew has no chance of world honours at cruiser - he was far too big in the ring IMO and he was pretty sluggish at the weight I felt. He is naturally bigger anyway so it seemed odd for him to blow up that much before the fight. He looked in peak condition at the weight at the weigh in...?
Talk of filling the Millennium Stadium is laughable - this wasn't PPV and if they fought a third time in my back garden then I'd close the curtains.

1000x better! You really are dull - here you go for future references - http://www.mathsisfun.com/percentage.htmlrighthook wrote:thats your reply. bellew wasnt much better![]()

As for the fight; whether you step in cat Sh*t or dog Sh*t it still stinks; if you feel the Welsh deserve a refund then in reality so should the Scousers; neither fighter produced; the fight wasn't even a really good domestic level scrap. On that performance neither are going anywhere at CW. Stop blowing smoke up your heroes butt and accept what it was = an awful contest.
Re: How many rounds did Clev win?
I'd like to see Bellew in with Lebedev. Would be interesting.

Re: How many rounds did Clev win?
My scorecard looked like this:
Rd
1. Oh no, the main event has started
2. That girl over there is lovely
3. Sit down, you in front! Actually, no stay there
4. Transfixed by the shape of my beer glass. Might do a glassblowing course
5. Planning the logistics of my trip home

Not blowing smoke up no1s ass just pointing out that that Welsh wearing bandanna fool is a joke of a fighter, and U should agree! He was awful all that talk ........ I'm an athlete the athlete was blowing out his a55 after 6 rounds, he ran all fight petrified of exchanging! It wasn't a great fight to watch as one fighter was 5hit scared but at the end of the day he whooped your boy and it wasn't even close
Re: How many rounds did Clev win?
I had it even through the 1st 6 then Bellew swept the last 6. Pretty essy to score I thought

I gave him 4 rounds, can't remember off the top of my head which. In all honesty, I wouldn't trust my own scorecard that much. I was watching online and had a more interesting browser window open.
I wonder how many people will have righthook on ignore after this?

Re: How many rounds did Clev win?
I could have maybe gave Cleverly 3 rounds at a push instead of just the 1 i gave, with 1 even
Bellew never landed nothing of note despite doing all the pressing so i can see why people wouldnt give him the rounds
I never gave Alvarez many rounds in his fights with Trout and Lara and i never gave Martinez much in his win over Magdaleno and theres probably a lot more example of fights where ive never gave the "fighter" much in fights with "boxers" as i do normally prefer the "boxers" in these types of fights but Nathan's performance was just so surreal and far too negative for me to give him anything
Unlike a lot of judges,i dont mind fighters fighting on the backfoot for 12 rounds, some judges like it to a point, then about halfway through decide the boxers are "running" then change their whole perception of a fight even though the boxer hasnt changed their tactics at all
Cleverly should have won that fight but didnt even come close on my card

Re: How many rounds did Clev win?
Not going to argue that Cleverly was rubbish as he was, but let's not forget Tony's pre fight bravado of "I'm gonna smash him, I'm gonna knock him out" - the fact is he was fighting a bloke literally sitting on the ropes for 4 rounds and he couldn't land anything of note on him to get even close to troubling him.righthook wrote:taffytoon wrote:1000x better! Bellew won the fight quite clearly (just for you Fat Git x) but let's not pretend it was some Mayweather masterclass; they were both awful, it's just that Cleverly was quite a bit more awful!
I know you know Tony, but he seemed a bit too fleshy to me? He did the rounds well but I can't help but think that he'd have been better off being 10 pounds lighter?

Re: How many rounds did Clev win?
I have stated the fight was awful but neither boxer did their careers any favours in my opinion; to be over the moon and proud that fighter A beat fighter B when fighter B was gassed and one handed is laughable. As I said it doesn't matter if you step in cats s hit or dogs s hit it still stinks. Tony was the cat and Nathan was the dog = s hit fight
Re: How many rounds did Clev win?
I was in the arena and gave him 3-4 but because I wanted Bellew to win I tend to be a bit biased in the opposite way (always fearing the worst).
Would like to watch it back...anyone know if theyre due to show it on Sky Sports this weekend or something like normal?

Re: How many rounds did Clev win?
One thing is for certain, Clev is finished as a Cruiserweight. Nobody can take him seriously at close to world level with his post fight comments at Cruiserweight.
He had the ready made excuse and could have had another payday - now, the only realistic payday he can have is at Light Heavyweight. He has practically confessed in a split decision loss and a close one at that (officially).... lets not forget had he won the 12th round officially it would have been a draw, that Bellew beats him ten times out of ten at this weight.

Re: How many rounds did Clev win?
Not a good spectacle at all. Gutted for Clev and Bellew deserved his victory clearly in the end.
Cleverly tried to pace himself and box smart early and did make bellew miss alot. He then didnt have the stamina to go through the gears and take it to bellew in the second half of the fight, which i believe was his gameplan.
I had doubts over his stamina after seeing his first cruiserweight bouts against weaker opposition. He did throw more variety and power shots then and although getting the TKO victories, he seemes to lack the workrate he had as a lightheavy.
maybe he struggles to make lightheavy but is not quite a cruiser either. I would like to see him drop back down to lightheavy and start again. He only lost tobl the divisions number1 in kovalev after all.

I doubt clev Will ever b able to make that weight again! I could be wrong but when u put on 25 pounds of muscle and you have been that weight for over 6 months it would kill him going down to light heavy weight again, he is caught in between weights same as bellew, I still do not know why the jump from light heavy to cruiser is so much
Re: How many rounds did Clev win?
Toby seems to know a lot about muscle and adding it; I don't think it'd have been possible for nathan to put on that much in such a short span.
I agree with you that both maybe too big for lightheavy and too small for cruiser; some of the top men are very well built and full of natural strength and power - they come down to the division limit and are not carrying bulk.
