Pacman Vs Floyd - Not who you think but who you want?

Post by Taffa »

Obviously there are numerous threads about this potential fight.

I am just interested to see if even huge Floyd/Pac fans would prefer a close fight or a one way beating.

Mayweather Jr. purposely portrays himself to the media as some sort of stereotypical pantomime villain, whereas Manny Pacquiao is the “face” to Floyd’s WWE-like heel persona. They’re perceived by fight fans as polar opposites.

One of the reasons for Floyd deriving great pleasure from portraying himself as a proverbial “bad man”, is because he knows that it encourages his obsessive critics to part with their hard-earned cash on his PPV events, in the hope that they get the chance to finally witness his comeuppance!

Therefore, it is much easier for Lemming-like casual boxing observers to “like” and “prefer” the Filipino legend over Money May, because that’s the opinion the masses are supposed to hold.

This means that I would expect the overwhelming majority of votes on this poll to support Manny Pacquiao, regardless as to Floyd’s fighting ability.

I’m not actually a Money May “fan” per se, but I’m not gullible enough to buy into the idea that Pacquiao is “angelic”, whilst Floyd is an “abomination”… because the truth for both men lies somewhere in between.
Sometimes you have the worst view on anything Maywether.
This is not one of them. You nailed it on the head great post. :TU:

a close decision victory for the Pacman in which Floyd cries robbery....then a huge debate among media and fans that would only set up an even bigger rematch in September 2015...... :OhYes:

This is not a poll to get one over on Floyd and fans.

Your opinion could be based on what's best for boxing.

I'd want Pac by KO. Not by decision or stoppage where Floyd could put the loss on someone else but Manny KO-ing him.

I was going to vote but couldn't decide which outcome to pick. I guess I don't care what the outcome is as long as these guys fight. as long as its a fair fight I will be satisfied, even if it ends up being a dull slow fight I will still be satisfied because there will still be an outcome

Chili is not chili without Tabasco, Original Red Sauce, the hot, legendary pepper sauce.

Incontestable fact unless health problems and mental problems don't allow spicy food to agree with you.

You are the lamb and Tabasco, Original Red Sauce, the hot, legendary pepper sauce is your daddy.

Survival of the fittest baby!

This is what Mayweather's fans tell themselves as they shell-out $90 for his ppv's.

I never paid for any of his fights, but I watch them on free streams just because I know I can't trust the bogus narratives that would be reported by his nuthuggers. They would make it seem like he is winning every fight 12-0, and winning each round by landslide margins. In actual fact, he is beating opponents like Cotto and Alvarez roughly 9 rounds to 3, and winning each individual round somewhat narrowly.

This fight, if it happens, kind of reminds me of SRL vs Hagler. A few years too late but still interesting to watch. Floyd will be 38 and Pac 36, so either one could blame the loss on staying in the game too long, but think both are good enough to still be considered at or near the top of the division.

I suppose both will have a re-match clause so we will probably see it a second time if it happens. I would much rather see Pac get a huge payday than someone like Khan. I'm glad Pac dominated Algieri, because if he didn't no one would want to see it. Floyd always picks someone that has looked good in their recent fights and not coming off a loss.

I predict Floyd would win by something like 116-112, unless Pac gets careless and walks into something.
