18,500 tickets. ..
Sold for bad blood this weekend according to the promoter. Is this the second biggest show of the year?
Hopefully it will show the promoters that matching 2 young, well matched fighters can generate a buzz and get bums on seats and that they do not think the heavies are responsible for the sales!

If accurate, that's a terrific effort. I hope it all pays off for them, BN is good and they deserve a bit of luck.
Re: 18,500 tickets. ..

None sold to secondary markets either apparently which I'm sure is no dig at a rival!

He doesn't deserve any luck to be honest. None. But its a great card and deserves to be a big crowd.Sklar wrote:If accurate, that's a terrific effort. I hope it all pays off for them, BN is good and they deserve a bit of luck.

The channel is good and it's about more than one man.

The channel is good etc but that allegedly man shouldn't be allowed to promote in this country ever again.
Complete crook. Hopefully he gets his comeuppance one day.

Interesting point raised in the presser. Was the show last week made PPV to mess with the show this weekend? i.e. hype up a crappy card, lure in the mug punters, and have them go away with a bit of sick in their mouth that would still be giving a nasty aftertaste a week or so later, so much so they leave this card alone?
Re: 18,500 tickets. ..
that had happened to a bloke at my work , occasional fan , bought last weeks dross and ain't got no interest in this week even tho' iv'e told him to expect better action , I hope i'm rightSklar wrote:Interesting point raised in the presser. Confused by the reports of 18-20,000 tickets sold when the ExCel seating plan on the ticketing website hasn't changed in all the months tickets have been on sale. Thought it was set-up a for 10-12,000 capacity.

These promoters have been into counter-scheduling for a long time. Fwank had to move a Liverpool show earlier this year after Eddie counter-scheduled a bigger show. Both have run their biggest shows of the year within a week of each other on purpose. I'm not buying into the 'let's run a shite PPV to hurt fwank's show' theory but in terms of competing and clashing over dates it has been going on for a while. Fwank loves to counter program on a sat night to bleed sky's viewing figures for eddies shows.domjon wrote:paranoid much ? The last DLR from Custom House is 12:56 and the last Jubilee line from Canning Town is 12:15.Glass Joe wrote:are the tubes running late for this one? i might tube it but might not be out till after midnight, on second thought i dont think excel has a tube station
I can walk home from ExCeL in 10 mins
Re: 18,500 tickets. ..
I think this is important to generally keep in mind, whether a show goes worse or better than expected. I often see people criticizing or lauding promoters for the quality of a show they've put on or a specific fight on the card based on what unfolded, but cards aren't made with a crystal ball by one's side.handsofstone wrote:x2cold187 wrote:bets thing about the main fights are

Re: 18,500 tickets. ..
That's very impressive, particularly if you consider the fact that Wazza does not give thousands of tickets to online ticket re-sellers and pretends that they are 'sold'.
Re: 18,500 tickets. ..
There was some sort of change a couple of weeks ago more seats added to the floor (£50 ones there was never £50 floor seats to start with)bruthead wrote:Confused by the reports of 18-20,000 tickets sold when the ExCel seating plan on the ticketing website hasn't changed in all the months tickets have been on sale. Eubank Jr has sold this out. Without him or BJS its a half full show!
Re: 18,500 tickets. ..
Good to see a show being 'sold out' without tickets being sold on stubhub or viagogo ala Hearn, this card is genuinely the best British boxing card of the year, which is a surprise given that Hearn has the boxers and the media outlet to make that happen but he doesn't manage to do that, fair play to FW.
