If Eubank Jr's name was "John Smith" and didnt have a former world champ as a dad,do people still see something in his record and performances that would make you believe he's special or even good enough to beat a seasoned unbeaten champ and amateur star like Saunders?

He's been championed since he turned pro,he's been matched very carefully,no former titlist's of any description in his CV,which im all the more surprised he's stepped up to the plate in this fight

TBF he has been impressing me more in his last few fights,and he is starting to look like he might be able to win a title of some sorts but if it wasnt for the baggage he brings,he'd be in the wilderness waiting for a shot at something

He wouldn't be bigged up as much but he wouldn't be critisised as much either. People are looking for faults because of who he is, he might get even more credit if he was John smith.

Saunders has been a bit of a disappointment as a pro. When he was an amateur I honestly thought we were talking about a lad who was going to go the full distance and win world titles and be involved in massive fights. Never thought this far into his pro career we would be talking about a potential 50/50 fight with someone likes Eubank jnr.

I love Snr. My hero as a young boy.

I think we can look through Eubank's career and see a wealth of dodgy as hell decisions he got because the WBO at that point wanted a visible champion.

I seem to remember Watt joking that the police raided the WBO offices and found the scorecards for Eubank's next five fight, or something on those libnes

Completely agree with this actually. Remember that batch of Olympians turning pro and thinking to myself Saunders would definitely go the furthest. I guess he still could but it hasn't been done at the pace I was expecting.

What is Snr on?!

It's really hard to separate the possibilities of what's happening with his rhetoric.

1) he genuinely believes the things he's saying about his Son

2) he's creating buzz for the fight

Could be a mix of both, and while we'll get a much better picture come fight time, what do people reckon about Snr's claims? Big words, but even if he were to take them as an exaggeration, he's still suggesting that his son is one of the best boxers around. Really?...

Senior's problem is that he likes to use 75 words, when one will do, so he tends to end up waffling.

I wouldn't expect anything different, but he is hyping Junior up so much that you'd think Junior was the result of a genetic fusing of Charley Burley & Sugar Ray Robinson!
