Chisora looked totally shot. "Fury made him look that way!" I don't think so. Chisora just hasn't looked the same since Haye. No spark. His workrate tonight was much lower. Fury just pecked out whatever stuffing remained.
Re: Fury vs Chisora 2 card - RBR
tbh I think tonight shows that Fury can show the discipline to box very intelligently agaisnt a shorter heavyweight by expertly managing distance. I don't think it proves anything about his ability to beat or compete with Wlad. Dont get me wrong it's a fight I'd like to see, but I dont see any circumstances where he beats Wlad. He can't outbox him, he doesnt have the power to have a shoot out and I don't think he has the defence to keep Wlad off.

Fury v Klitschko is like a newly promoted team like Burnley away against Chelsea. Chelsea will completely dominaite but there is always a chance Burnley will win.

Vitali beat Chisiora easily with one arm, before his left arm was injured he had countered him beautifully with it every time he came in and would have gotten a stoppage. That Vitali won most rounds with just the right arm is all I ever needed to know about Chisiora, especially with his wannabe thug behaviour. But at least in other fights he pressed some action, today he did do jack shyte.
He must have bet all his money against himself or something. Or was someone from the Brewster camp around and spiked his drink?
Anyways, Wladimir doesn't do too well against opponents that match him in size, I can't really see Tyson win though, but who knows, Wladimir has a handful of fights where he momentarily struggled with styles, like against Calvin Brock. Who knows what will happen is he faces someone who can swap stances, I say let him at it!

The thing that would decide a Wlad v Fury contest is punch power. Wlad has it, Fury doesn't (comparatively).

He beat Wach pretty easily and Pulev whilst shorter wasnt that much smaller.Nightgaunt wrote:Vitali beat Chisiora easily with one arm, before his left arm was injured he had countered him beautifully with it every time he came in and would have gotten a stoppage. I dont see Klitschko KOing Fury. He is a favorite to outpoint him but Fury has loads of tools to cause an upset.lillywhite14 wrote:Building your hopes up will only leave you disappointed. It was another fairly careful match up in Furys career. Chisora, along with all his previous opponents, cannot bang. Wlad will be the cash out, spectacular KO, winner for all involved fight, but it won't be all that competitive.Tarkus wrote:Great performance from Fury, impeccable defense. We have a legitimate challenge to Klitschko I think.

You do realise that Chisora had the best wins of his career post his fight with David Haye... That's a very odd statement to make.

Furys size is a hindrance against Wlad, I have no doubt about that. He doesn't have any tools to beat Wlad, not that I can see anyway.
Re: Fury vs Chisora 2 card - RBR
If the fight does happen next year then Wladimir is definitely the favourite. But won't it be interesting to see him punching upward for a change?Tarkus wrote:I dont see Klitschko KOing Fury. He is a favorite to outpoint him but Fury has loads of tools to cause an upset.
Plus, Fury's reach is 85 inches... Wlad's is only 81 inches... That's a helluva advantage that Fury would be taking away from him.

Klitschko won't fight Fury next.
Maybe he can get the winner of Stiverne vs. Wilder in January but I reckon Wlad will step in and face one of them instead, leaving Fury in the cold.
Fury vs. Price is probably the best fight to make domestically in Manchester or Liverpool.
Chisora would be a good opponent for AJ to face next summer in London...

I think that it is more likely that he will use his voluntary defence to fight Shannon Briggs in the US.wesshaw1985 wrote:Klitschko won't fight Fury next.

Wlad is a far, far superior athlete.Crease wrote:If the fight does happen next year then Wladimir is definitely the favourite. Much tighter.
This is a weird conversation.
Re: Fury vs Chisora 2 card - RBR
It was a stinker but fury hasn't had a meaningful fight in 2 years. He didn't get hit or lose his head. Good night all round for him.

Excellent display from Fury tonight. He's really improved. I don't think he'd beat Wlad but he'd have a great chance against the other leading contenders.

Enjoyed the fights 2nite, chisora fury was a bit of a chore at the end and didn't think the Mitchell smith fight should of been where it was. Surely its time for chisora to call it a day??? There's nothing going for him now do you lot think?? A potential next opponent for Joshua would be an absolute battering on his part.

Fury's size makes it harder for him to get out of the way. He has always been easy to hit, his only chance against Wlad would be to go for it. Having a longer reach never means 'better jab', it's more complicated than that as you know Crease.Crease wrote:If the fight does happen next year then Wladimir is definitely the favourite. Fury doesn't have the power or chin for a straight shootout with Wlad.
I have always thought he matches up with Wlad terribly.
Re: Fury vs Chisora 2 card - RBR
The trouble is that he's quite young (30) and he has a lot of time to rebuild his career up once again. And when you consider that he was ranked 6th in the world going in to the fight tonight, then he'll still have a fairly high ranking despite the loss...Joellucketti wrote:Surely its time for chisora to call it a day??? Re: Fury vs Chisora 2 card - RBR
I agree that Wladimir has the better jab. But Fury's accuracy has improved and with his size and physicality, I just wonder if he could force Wlad in to fighting a completely different way.lillywhite14 wrote:Fury's size makes it harder for him to get out of the way. Wladimir is the more powerful and has the KO power. But something about a potential Fury vs Wlad excites me. I don't think it would be a "run of the mill" fight for Wlad as we sometimes see.lillywhite14 wrote:Fury doesn't have the power or chin for a straight shootout with Wlad. Re: Fury vs Chisora 2 card - RBR
Damndest performance I have seen in a long while... Fury (more or less) has been inactive for two years, and if anything he looks more dominating now than he did then... he made a man submit and look like he went through a meat grinder just jabbing the whole night... he never got out of first gear, and that's the scary part.
Re: Fury vs Chisora 2 card - RBR
Eddie Chambers showed class immediately and articulately jumping to the defence of all boxers when the commentator pointed out the referee had told the two men to do more, was impressed by that.
I think Del didn't quite bring his A game either physically - maybe even mentally (saying to your cornerman when told to move your feet "the feet don't work" after 2 rounds doesn't smack of great preparation).....but he was a brave guy in there. I feel that Del Boy would never have the answer to Tyson Fury's world class bio-mechanics. Even when Fury stands still and leans back from his hips, the distance Chisora's fists have to travel to Fury's head is about twice as long as his arms. That must be extremely difficult.

Re: Fury vs Chisora 2 card - RBR
Fury's size could be a factor? Furys jab? Fury's willingness to fight? Fury's improved boxing and accuracy? Klitschko will beat him and beat him handily. Fury is not even nowhere near being a world class fighter. He is clumsy and his technique isn't the best. He uses his size well and uses his jab as well as he can. This is not a dig at Tyson Fury. I respect everything he has done so far, I just don't think he is good enough to challenge world honours.
