Haaaaa I love all these debates! ;) I am only in this sport too fight, I want to give all the fans the fights that they pay for! I won't hide from anyone and if we need to do things corrupt then that's fine, that is just the sport of boxing! We won't cry over spilt beans, or milk...
Re: Clark v Evans
Credit to you for it, could do with more with that attitude. But others, or their team at least, will see things as risk reward and it stops fights happening.Ronnie Clark wrote:Haaaaa I love all these debates! ;) I am only in this sport too fight, I want to give all the fans the fights that they pay for! Re: Clark v Evans
I'm not particularly clued up on purses, but £2k for a 10 rounder does seem a bit low, if a fighter's a good ticket seller, they could be on close to that for an easy fight at home and if they're with a big promoter like Evans, it wouldn't surprise me if they were getting that sort of money for 4 and 6 rounders.JamieM wrote:£200 a round basically , So it's ok for ronnie to go down for guidline price but to much risk for them ha,

I also said matchroom and allegedly pay a bit more mate, for
Small hall shows which cover 95% of shows all over the uk the board guidlines for paymrnts are used, unless it goes to purse bids of course also, do you think they just make up a figure? Everyone fights for the same money, and to be fair boys like roberts, Scott Allan etc for me proberly got paid board guidlines from Hearn on the scottish shows, The pay is not great like you all think, barely covers costs of a camp, scottish boys have been travelling down to england for buttons but the english fighters refuse to come up here, and we wonder why scottish boxing is not on a great place,
Alba- being friends with prospects Paul graham you will know yourself how hard it must be for Paul to get anyone up, rhys pagan has had 3 big fights, 1 was domestic v a scottish fighter, other two are down in England in fights that Paul could have fitted into his budget for a show up here, also Iain butcher, I remember Iain and Paul managed to get bCking to bring satchel up to scotland in which was refused straight away, fair enough talent may not be great up here, but english don't help us by refusing to send any prospects up for 50-50 fights, not just ronnie in Scotland , it's all them
Who take big fights, Iain butcher, rhys pagan, mikey towell, Scott Allan, all willing to test themselves

£2k for a 10 rounder looked a bit low to me. Re: Clark v Evans
1000, you have a managers fee which is mandatory with the board and also you pay your trainer, these guys are fighting for 200 a round, trust me they all follow the board guidlines there for there is no more money on a small show in England than there is in scotland, english foghters just refuse to travel,
Re: Clark v Evans
Im always sending guys up to scotland to fight? where does this english guys refuse to travel come from?
Re: Clark v Evans
No idea, loads of fighters go on the road, whether to Scotland, Wales or a different part of the country, they're still going into someone's backyard.jonp wrote:Im always sending guys up to scotland to fight? where does this english guys refuse to travel come from?
Re: Clark v Evans
I'm meaning 50-50 fights, I can't remember first time Iv seen a 50-50 fight up here, some journeymen have had upsets etc, but for me having intrest in ronnie would any super feather in England come up here and fight him? Realistic fights of course of course, evans, maxi hughes sort of domestic level, not a chance! Also don't believe any others would come up for any opponents, being around small hall circuit in Scotland 50-50 fights Havnt been here,
Re: Clark v Evans
Jon mostly journeymen come up to Scotland. How many of your undefeated prospects have you send up?? It's not just a English thing it's everywhere. Fighters try to fight on home shows gives them a lot more protection.jonp wrote:Im always sending guys up to scotland to fight? where does this english guys refuse to travel come from?
As for a few comments that others have said that we don't accept defeats.. Only legit defeat on Ronnie's record is Troy James. We can't complain either way that fight was very close hence the split decision and we couldn't argue either way. Every other fight there was hometown decisions. The Craig Evans fight was the worst. Yes the rounds were messy but Craig done nothing the whole fight. The fact that people have come out and said what they have show that people know where there bread is buttered and don't want to lose chances or work on the future. A good example is last night Eubank Jnr v Saunders.. First 5 rounds were close with Saunders being mostly in control except the 3rd where Eubank took it a bit too him. Then 6 through to 12 Eubank Jnr was the aggressor and hitting with the better shots.. Biased commentary and literally everyone involved showing very biased views. Worst case scenario that fight was a draw. Boxing is full of politics, 2 faced people and everyone looking out for their own interests. The loss doesn't bother me Ronnie is getting better every fight that's the best he had fought in his career. These draws and loses are just giving him more motivation to become better and prove himself.

Craig Evans was a legitimate defeat, you can't keep complaining that Ronnie's been robbed on the road, maybe next time he needs to go out and do enough to win the fight. People have come out and said what they've said because that's how they say it, no one's going to risk their reputation on a fight between Craig Evans and Ronnie Clark and they aren't going to lose anything if they say they thought Ronnie won. And if you think Eubank Jr won that fight, I now understand why you think Ronnie's being robbed, being on the front foot does not win you fights, neither does throwing more punches, maybe it's your scoring, rather than the judges that make you complain about robberies.
Re: Clark v Evans
How can you score any round after the fifth to Saunders?? Listening go biased commentary and reactions at the end. Again was a split decision a judge seen it almost exact same way as me. The widest score was to Eubank. Saunders was almost stopped a good few times. Eubank was never in trouble. Better shots came from Eubank.. Ronald was Robbed against Craig Evans. Will see if the fight footage ever shows up.. Ask yourself why the crowd were booing at the end.. Sure the ref got Ronnie's wage for the fight also..expe wrote:More protection and more money, if Ronnie could fight at home he would, no different to anyone else.daviddee wrote:Jon mostly journeymen come up to Scotland. Go listen to allegedly commentary , eubank is landing and there nice and composed and soon as saunders lands a jab he's rocked, it's pretty funny, open bias, expe- have you ever been involved or seen boxing from a close proximity? Rather than just from the outside? It's msdness and stuff that goes on is unbelivable, Eubank was swinging and going for a ko cause he knew fine well he wasn't getting a points score,

He was swinging because he can't box and knew he was well behind, his technique isn't good enough to do anything else.JamieM wrote:Go listen to allegedly commentary , eubank is landing and there nice and composed and soon as saunders lands a jab he's rocked, it's pretty funny, open bias, expe- have you ever been involved or seen boxing from a close proximity? Re: Clark v Evans
It was a split decision because Phil Edwards was on crack, Eubank came nowhere close to winning that fight. Saunders won rounds because he outboxed Eubank Jr, made him miss and fought for the whole round, not just 30 seconds. You're clueless if you think Saunders was almost stopped, he wasn't hurt once, every time Eubank landed a decent shot he fired back, wasn't wobbled or on the floor. Eubank landed fornicate all, few body shots, odd uppercut and a good left hook at the end of the 9th/10th and Saunders still won that round after picking him off for most of the round before it. If you score that to Eubank by 3 rounds, there's no way I'm going to trust your scorecard for Ronnie's fight or any other fight, I'll stick with Lillis, Dixon and all the others who had it to Evans.daviddee wrote:How can you score any round after the fifth to Saunders?? Re: Clark v Evans
I'm not naive enough to think everything's done by the book, but I'm not having it that respected pundits like Steve Lillis and Tris Dixon would put their reputation on the line over Craig Evans vs Ronnie Clark, if they said that they thought Clark won, what was going to happen? Fwank ain't gonna sack anybody over Craig Evans.JamieM wrote:Expe- have you ever ben involved up close ? Have you seen what actually happens? And there was no chance of Eubank getting robbed last night, it might have been Warren's show, but Eubank Sr still carries a lot of influence and down the line Eubank Jr's likely to be the bigger draw, if anything the cards were likely to be favourable to him, as they turned out to be.

Re: Clark v Evans
I have to say, the comments from you saying Eubank jnr won really aren't helping your case for scoring fights. Bjs was at least 5-1 up after 6. From then on, Eubank wound up big flashy punches but they didn't land due to the defence of bjs and eubank didn't fight for 3 mins per round.

Agree to a certain extent and can also agree with 5-1 after 6 although I though Eubank Jnr won 3 it was close.. The better work in the 2nd half of the fight was by Eubank Jnr.. The commentating was shocking the body shots and uppercuts were landing every round. A bit more experience he would of got the stoppage. Although Saunders is very very tough. Was a very good fight. I'm more a Saunders fan than Eubank. I'm happy Saunders won he deserves it and will now go on to be World Champion..freddydoesdallas wrote:I have to say, the comments from you saying Eubank jnr won really aren't helping your case for scoring fights. Iv asked about 4 times now, he judges boxing from his living room, we see what goes on from the inside, we are told first hand from people well respected in the sport what goes on, fact that you can't see that kugan, lills and Dixon have connections with allegedly and have buisness relations says a lot,
Allegedly treats all his fighters like champions as it was proven with ricky burns that the least likely can
Go on and be a cash cow, I remember an Alex Morrison fighter put an opinion on facebook saying he believed a fellow Morrison fighter would be beaten by a non Morrison fighter, morrisons wrote on the status he would be releasing the said fighter on the Monday, managers, fighters, pundits, commentators all protect their intrestz, simple as that!

Re: Clark v Evans
Don't bullshit me, you not see how much Ricky was owed? Frank does what's best for him, not the fighters. He needs the coverage from Kugan and Dixon and Lillis isn't going to lose his job, nor would anyone else, over Craig Evans, he's a nobody, as far down the pecking list of Fwank's fighters as you can get. I've never claimed to have inside knowledge, but don't make out like you have much either, your brother/mate boxes, you pick up information from that, half of it false, I noticed Liam Walsh and Gary Sykes made super feather on Friday, thought they weren't gonna make weight or turn up?JamieM wrote:Iv asked about 4 times now, he judges boxing from his living room, we see what goes on from the inside, we are told first hand from people well respected in the sport what goes on, fact that you can't see that kugan, lills and Dixon have connections with allegedly and have buisness relations says a lot,

Boxing can be a shady business at the best of times, but you act like the whole world's against you and when things don't go your way, put it down to politics or like David said, 'we are not sheep', neither are the majority of people on here, we watch fights and call them as we see it.
Re: Clark v Evans
Well for one I said he treats them like champions as in building them, never said he didn't take money, he knows boxing is a funny buisness and anyone can be a champion, evans far down pecking order? Ok, he's a prospect he expects to win titles, very good amateur, foight best amateur of all time, all above are paid from warren and my example is doesn't mattermif you have had 1'fight or 100 allegedly will always back his fighter, simple as that, that's his job, same as Morrison did, ronnie doesn't tell us a thing, a lot of other do, some may be surprising but it's not secret the politics of boxing, you get. Your information from Sky sports news, as for walsh and sykes they both are tight at weight, said in post fight interview, sykes was shot with weight, when has he ever looked as gassed as that? Walsh looked good though ,
Re: Clark v Evans
Oh right to be fair there tho if there was plenty of shows in scotland you would not see the local prospects travelling so much. You yourself have seen its harder to get a result away and with the thriving element of shows down in england the undefeated guys would be daft to travel up to where they have an obvious disadantage.Trust me if there were plenty of shows north of the border yr undedeated lads would not be taking risksdaviddee wrote:Jon mostly journeymen come up to Scotland.
