Wlad's a completely different kettle of bastard sturgeon. Fury has latterly discovered the Super-Heavyweight Road To Happiness & Success, playing it safe behind the jab & smothering your bemused, hesitant opponent when he manages to get inside. Do the Olly-the-Octopus thing when he gets inside & hang all your weight off his neck & voila! Physics will grant you a wide points win or a late retirement victory.
When allowed to dictate the pace & fighting within their limits, such fighters are very difficult to beat for pressure-fighter size heavies. Look at any Klitschenko title fight of the last five-ten years.
If Fury fights Wlad (big if if you ask me), I'll bet you my socks that he won't win. He might take some rounds off the Ukrainian & impress everyone with his heart & gumption etc etc but he's got zero chance of beating him.
I just don't think he can hurt Wladdy, & if you can't hurt Wladdy, you're going to be faced with the same dilemma that faced Pulev & made him fight like a kamikaze the other day: stand outside & play the jabbing game with him when he's as fast as you are & a much better boxer & he's hurting you waaaaaay more than you're hurting him, so outworking him is untenable. Your options narrow down to going into a defensive shell & half-hopefully swatting at him occasionally, or doing what Pulev did & mounting the Death Charge straight into the biggest one-shot hitter at the weight & hoping you nail him before he nails you.
If Wlad was showing signs of ageing & the engine winding down then, yes, an outside chance he could scuffle & fiddle & win a decision. But against the Wladdy we saw the other day?

Yes of course the odds are well stacked against Fury as Wlad does everything better. I do however think Fury can hurt him even though Tyson doesn't have massive KO power. In a general sense we know Wlad can be hurt, it's just that nobody can get to his whiskers these days. I feel Fury has more skills than Pulev (not hard in my humble opinion) and would find a way in, it's just whether he can avoid or take what's coming his way on the way in, nearly all don't as we know.
I dunno there's just something about Tyson and I wish him all the luck in the world. 'Luck' being the operative word before you get there first 8)
But I do think you have to be able to hurt Wladdy to beat him, & I don't think Fury can. Or at least, not enough to get him out of there. He might make him do the knee-twitch like Pulev did but I don't think there's enough torque in his punches to end Wlad, & if you do buzz him like Pulev did, & don't immediately finish him, Bad Things happen.

I seriously doubt that. Fury demonstrated a systemic beat down of Chisora. He didn't take unnecessary risks, he stuck to his game plan, he showed a variety of punches - it was a highly effective and very efficient performance.
Maybe it wasn't the spectacular knockout that people wanted to see.. And maybe it was not as fashionable as Muhammad Alli punishing Ernie Terrell... But it's the same concept.

I disagree. If you judge it purely off the Klitschko fight then yes but im willing to bet that Pulev would beat Fury if they fought.
I doubt that with the extra reach and height (and better guard) of Tyson, that Wlad would be able to land the lead left hook on Fury with the same ease that he landed it on Pulev.
Also Wlad probably would find it harder to octopus Fury than Pulev. And he had more difficulty doing it to Pulev compared to even smaller opponents.
I agree with Datsue, pretty much. I believe Fury will now beat any heavyweight under 6'3" with relative ease. Against Wlad I think he'll be really up against it and I predict Tyson being stopped before halfway. A fight with Wilder would be awesome and it's the one I want to see. Fury is the better boxer but Wilder is rangy, exciting and can bang like Bonham. While it lasted it would be compelling.

With his right hand being ineffective, it greatly reduces Chisora's chances of success in this matchup.

Good post Crease, I hadn't considered Chisora's lack of a left hook to the head. Unfortunately Wlad has a good left hook when he chooses to use it as Pulev found out.
