Lucas Browne vs Christian Hammer Who Wins

Post by bigdoug »

If Browne wants to mix it up with the big boys he has to start getting bouts with top 15 guys like Hammer and Bryant Jennings but can he beat these guys. I think he beats Hammer but not Jennings. What do you think

I think Jennings would be a heavy favorite and Hammer would be a slight favorite. Browne's best opponents are still just Richard Towers and James Toney, so I think he'd be out of his depth if he moved all the way up to someone like Hammer in his next fight. I think Browne should be targeting someone a dozen or two dozen ranks lower, like Malik Scott, Manual Charr, Amir Mansour, etc..

I would favor Browne at this point, but neither guy is a heavy favorite. I would love to see this fight.

Jennings would beat Brown; against Hammer it would be a closer fight, but I see the Romanian edging it.

I'm not sure Hammer is much more dangerous than Scott or Charr... Hammer would be a good fight to watch, but of course we're not Brown. If I were him, I would look at the likes of Sosnowski or Sexton for a Commonwealth defence.

They need to match Browne very carefully because he's going to lose at a pretty underwhelming level

Not sure where you got the idea I am a Browne fan, since I mentioned earlier that he would lose to both Jennings and Hammer. Seems like a nice enough guy though. What I mean is, if I was in Browne's camp I would find Hammer in particular a high risk, low reward fight. At least you can call Sosnowski a world title challenger - plus (I believe) he could be used as a defence of Browne's commonwealth strap.

I was impressed & been a fan of Lucas, since he KO'd Towers... but after this win, he didn't impress me once at all.

The fight will never happen. Hammer will avoid this because he going to be KO in the early rounds. Browne has the punching KO power. Look at Charr, once he boxed Povetkin and got KO'ed badly and got pushed back in the ranking.

I think if Hammer wants to quit and make more money then will take the risk.

I would probably pick someone like Charr to beat Browne.

I don't believe Poland is in the Commonwealth, a question for the university challenge qualifier was something like 'which are the 2 European countries which are in the commonwealth?' and the answer was Cyprus and Malta I believe (I got it wrong lol) :TU:
