I've not read the link.
I have to say though, it was obvious from the start that this was going to be a fixed fight, wasn't it? I mean when I seen the thread go up pre fight I couldn't imagine it being anything g other than a fake

I think it was fixed. I think Flintoff's was too. I don't think Freddie was in on it though.

Not sure about that Flintoff was in against a pub fighter and nearly lost a 3 rounder.Sklar wrote:I think it was fixed. I think Flintoff's was too. I don't think Freddie was in on it though.

That pub fighter almost knocked Flintoff out by mistake. In terms of fixing, I think his opponent was told not to try.... IE doesn't hurt him.Finn wrote:Not sure about that Flintoff was in against a pub fighter and nearly lost a 3 rounder.Sklar wrote:I think it was fixed. I think Flintoff's was too. I know it's at a MUCH lower level in terms of general attention but last week saw the debut of a Japanese comedian, Robert Yamamoto, by all accounts he looked tremendous and really fired up as he whooped Riku Takahashi. Not seen the full fight but in the clip I got to see he did look pretty good for a raw novice.

The best 'celebrity' boxer was Anthony Mundine. Amazing when you think about it.
Re: Apparently Mickey Rourkes opponent was paid to take a di
Lets not forget this was not an official fight. It was an exhibition bout
Re: Apparently Mickey Rourkes opponent was paid to take a di
I feel for the Seymour lad, clearly has some mental health issues. Giving him a few grand for throwing a fight/exhibition won't help him in the long term.
I hope Rourke and his people provide a bit more than just a bit of cash and a trip to Russia.
Although, this all stems from a Daily Mail article, so who knows!

People seem to be taking this bit of fun incredibly seriously
Re: Apparently Mickey Rourkes opponent was paid to take a di
Are you serious? Entire fight was a theatrical performance.
Re: Apparently Mickey Rourkes opponent was paid to take a di
it looks that way, however they then marketed it as Mickey Rourke breaking a record.Tarkus wrote:Are you serious? Entire fight was a theatrical performance.
