Hopkins vs Froch ?
If the chavez fights falls through for Froch, what about the Hopkins fight in Las Vegas? I think Hopkins will still have enough left to beat Froch.

Re: Hopkins vs Froch ?
After the drubbing he took against Kovalev I don't think this fight has any merit for Froch.
Give Degale a shot or retire.

Chavez jnr and B-Hop wouldnt be a bad way to end his career.
He doesnt want any part of Degale by the look of things. Shame I wouldnt mind seeing that loud mouth get "cobraed"...

Re: Hopkins vs Froch ?
I don't see the point in Froch fighting Hopkins.

Other than mega bucks and headlining in Vegas. Tick tick.

Kovalev is better than Froch, and bigger.
This could make sense for Hopkins. However, I think he is likely to pick off one of the weaker champions so he can be a world champ at 50

If his only option is giving De Gale a shot then I'd rather he retired.forcefraser wrote:After the drubbing he took against Kovalev I don't think this fight has any merit for Froch.

Is Hopkins really a massive money maker out there? Went i went over in 2010, they were giving the tickets away for his fightParson Cross wrote:Other than mega bucks and headlining in Vegas. Tick tick.
Re: Hopkins vs Froch ?
Is Andre Ward totally out of the question?

Apart from the last moment of round 12, it was just a younger, faster, stronger boxer who outgunned a pension to a UD.
I'd rather see Froch taken on Kovalev, doubt he'd want to though
Re: Hopkins vs Froch ?
not a good fight
Eddie will get Froch V Chavez made

I'm not bothered who the opponent is as long as it's in Vegas baby!

Re: Hopkins vs Froch ?
Not been on PPV for years and he's only boxed in Vegas 10 times, mostly in undercard fights. By my count he's only been the headline draw in Vegas at a big venue 6 times, one of those against De La Hoya, who was really the main attraction in that fight, so you could call it 5, Taylor x2, Wright, Calzaghe, Jones Jr, the last of those nearly 5 years ago. Even the Kovalev fight wasn't there and after a resounding defeat, I can't see Hopkins headlining a show in Vegas again, he hasn't fought there recently and his last fight won't have done anything for his drawing power. No PPV and no Las Vegas probably rules Hopkins out as an option for Froch, although I would like to see the fight.freddydoesdallas wrote:Is Hopkins really a massive money maker out there? Does anyone remember Calzaghe getting pelters for taking on has-beens like Hopkins and RJJ.
Froch was still building a career then and now he's about to retire and Hopkins is still an attractive option.
Makes you think.

Realistically are Braehmer or Abraham going to come to America to fight?.... Dirrell in my opinion stylistically is wrong for Hopkins with speed (even a 40+ Jones gave BH something to think about). I'm not suggesting Anthony Dirrell would beat Froch, but just think Froch style suits BH more than Froch.
Then you have Ward, Stevenson and Kovalev - none are weaker than Froch.
Unless Hopkins can boil all the way down to Middle and beat up Taylor.
Hopkins vs Froch is a more meaningful fight than Froch vs Chavez who has never been a proper, true, world champion.

Re: Hopkins vs Froch ?
I think a win over Bhop means more than a win over Chavez. But Both are mediocre events. I think he should be choosing someone that will drive him harder, even if it makes him an under dog. The event in Vegas will be much bigger against a live opponent.
I guess he has earns the right to choose his opponent, but losing to either a Bhop or Chavez would be awful to go out on.
Last fight, reach for he stars that's what I say!

Yeah it makes you think how you have come to the conclusion that Hopkins is an attractive option.davie wrote:Does anyone remember Calzaghe getting pelters for taking on has-beens like Hopkins and RJJ.

Re: Hopkins vs Froch ?
I remember when Hopkins and RJJ were at their peak and Calzaghe was saying he was scared of flying. This changed when they went over the hill.
