Hopkins to face JCCJr or GGG

Post by diddy »

According to him.

Meh.

GGG beats his ass. Not as bad as Kovalev because he's not as big and strong.

Hopkins decisions JCC easily.

I am wondering if JCCJ will prefer Froch or Hopkins. On one hand, he may think that he has better chances with Froch, but on the other hand, beating from Froch would probably be brutal while losing to Hopkins won't look so bad.

... and if JCCJ selects Hopkins, will Froch retire or he will fight DeGale, Golovkin or somebody else ?

Is the network aware of this or is it just BHop talking??

50-year-old coming off a lop-sided loss in a catch-weight bout is pretty much the last opponent I want to see for GGG.

I think Hops vs JCCjr in a TEN round fight has the potential to be entertaining.
Weight doesn't matter JCCjr won't bother making weight anyway.

I would rather Hopkins goes away but I have zero interest in Froch/JCCjr so let the old man stick his name in there and screw that up.
Froch vs Dirrel(WBA,WBC,IBF unification) or Froch/Degale

I wonder what GGG has to say about this.

I think GGG/hopkins would be interesting still at 168 and GGG moving up to that division is the right move for better fights to happen for him.

I'd rather see Hopkins step up to Cruiserweight and face Jones again...

I hear signals from both GGG and Korobov camps that after they both win their next fights, they will fight each other. After that, GGG will obviously try to fight Cotto/Canelo winner. If that doesn't work or is scheduled far ahead, then they should take the Hopkins fight.

Who cares? I'm sick of Froch acting like he's something special. He's not good enough for his fights to be some special boxing event ... and for all the talk about Ward not being a draw. Frock is on the outside looking in on all the big name opponents. He has a good chance at best to land such fights because he just isn't that significant a fighter.

Too much talk about number twos ...

Who cares? The thousands in attendance and the millions watching around the world! :OhYes:
Who at 168 (or even 160) is a bigger name than Froch? Surely Ward isn't as he barely fights and he's not as big a draw when he does. Who are all these 'big name opponents' you speak of? Froch has a great list of opponents on his record already and is talking about one more fight against JCC jr or just retiring. He's already had a great career.
Riiiight, headlining the biggest live boxing event in many years in his most recent fight isn't significant at all. Froch is just a small fry in the boxing world.

If Korobov wins he fights Saunders, all agreed with Bob Arum and the WBO, Billy Joe stepped aside to give Lee the shot, then won a final eliminator, that fight will be next.

That's because the UK boxing fan is rabid about average/good UK fighters.

I couldn't give a fornicate for the bigger name. I care about watching the best, and Froch is not the best, not even close. Froch VS Chavez Jr is a garbage fight, in fact, almost every fighter with Chavez Jr is a garbage fight because he can't box.

Froch needs to either fight or shut up. He's no Floyd or Manny or Cotto or JMM or even Canelo. As soon as he boards a plane to the US, he's nothing. If the ticket prices are too high, Chavez Jr/Froch will draw shit. Also, the PPV numbers would suck too.

Get a grip.

Your original point was 'He's not good enough for his fights to be some special boxing event'.

That is, apart from in England where he made millions of pounds last time out and filled a stadium, but I guess for you that doesn't count because his fans are 'rabid'

For Froch, Vegas would be the icing on the cake but not the be all and end all for him. Without the Chavez fight he could retire a happy and rich man with respect from all of boxing, the US fans included. I'm not sure he'll be having too many sleepless nights that you're not among them. :-?

 what a blowhard. Froch is one of the top 10 draws in the sport, but you try to sh*t all over him.
Fight or shut up? You're talking about a guy with one of the best lists of opponents in his generation. He's could retire now and get into the IBHOF easily. Ward is better, but he's wasting his potential career. His inactivity is making Froch #1 @ SMW by default.

Hopkins needs to fight "piece of shit" Stevenson and snatch that title belt from the overrated "piece of shit." Stevenson sucks and Dan Raphael (the bigger piece of shit who blocks people on twitter for calling him out for blowing "piece of shit" Stevenson) sucks even more for thinking Stevenson is better than Kovalev and Hopkins.

Hopkins TKO 10 over Stevenson.

GGG is much smaller in height and is not the puncher that Kovalev is and if Sergey couldn't dent Hopkins beard then what will a smaller, lesser puncher be able to do to him??

Geale landed a few shots that halted 3G (not for very long) and I'm certain that Bhop hits harder than Geale and has a longer reach to boot, plus he is faster, uses angles, has a better defense and is more wily than Geale.

I think Hopkins wins this duel but 3G will be in the fight to the finish because I don't see BHop KOing anyone.

Froch is not a lock for the Hall of Fame. Not even close. What would be his crowning achievement? The man who beat Lucien Bute? If there is some middle ground on Froch, I think that my opinion is closer to that ideal than "Froch for the IBHOF".

Also, i'm not trying to shit on Froch. He is only a celebrity in GB. I guess that's good enough because he can make for a big crowd. But the reason the big names in the US aren't making fights with Carl is because he doesn't demand attendance or money, especially for the type of payday he'd be expecting.

But whatever, you guys can't be objective about the men you like.

Some people don't learn and keep stepping on the same rake. The only reason Kovalev couldn't stop Hopkins is that Bernard was running for the whole fight. If he repeats the same tactics with GGG, the result will be similar -- a wide UD for Gennady. If he decides to actually fight, then Gennady's power can take its toll.

Ward isn't even a celebrity in the U.S, hell, he's barely a draw in his home town.

Ward is the better fighter, but he's not exciting, and he's nowhere near a draw, add on top that he seems to be unable to get a fight organised.

I didn't realize we needed your approval to have a difference in opinion, this is a forum, you know?? You have your opinion and I have mine that I justified with facts, you didn't add anything except your conjecture. Hopkins, has the height, reach, experience, great chin, great defense, uses angles, is faster than Geale and punches harder than him too.

3G won't be able to cut off the ring, doesn't have the reach to get in those long distance shots like Kov was able to, his power is less than Serg's also so he won't be able to hurt him or get his respect plus he's shorter to boot.

Bring something more than your angry disagreement, at least I provided something of substance to think about, you simply get upset.
