Kovalev has so many seeming advantages over Golovkin, but Gennady was able to seriously push him in sparring. He can do to Hopkins everything Sergey could. For god's sake, Bernard is 50.

what a blowhard. Froch is one of the top 10 draws in the sport, but you try to sh*t all over him.
Fight or shut up? You're talking about a guy with one of the best lists of opponents in his generation. He's could retire now and get into the IBHOF easily. Ward is better, but he's wasting his potential career. His inactivity is making Froch #1 @ SMW by default.

Froch is not a lock for the Hall of Fame. Not even close. What would be his crowning achievement? The man who beat Lucien Bute? If there is some middle ground on Froch, I think that my opinion is closer to that ideal than "Froch for the IBHOF".

Also, i'm not trying to poo on Froch. He is only a celebrity in GB. I guess that's good enough because he can make for a big crowd. But the reason the big names in the US aren't making fights with Carl is because he doesn't demand attendance or money, especially for the type of payday he'd be expecting.

But whatever, you guys can't be objective about the men you like.

Most fighters aren't celebrities all over the World as boxing is a bit of a fringe sport. Froch is the biggest draw at his weight and one of boxing's most popular fighters- just a tier below superstars like FMJ, Pacman and Canelo.
Froch will get into IBHOF because he's both accomplished enough and beloved by many fans. Others have made it in based on less. Very few recent fighters have taken on as many tough challenges as Froch and won most of them. He was only beaten decisively once and never beaten up. He has more than Bute on his record, he beat Pascal, Dirrell, Taylor, Abraham, Kessler, Groves.

This forum is full of people who cannot grasp the astonishingly simple concept that pugilists are known as "PRIZE" fighters, which means that Chavez Jr. would almost certainly prefer to receive $5m to face Carl Froch than $500K to share the ring with Bernard Hopkins.

Hopkins hasn't campaigned as a 160lb-er for more than a decade and he currently enters the ring weighing 183lbs or more... so a fight against GGG isn't going to happen, considering Golovkin's next two bouts have already been planned out.

Chavez never gets 500K. Against Hopkins, he would get a min of a 3 mil and would be guaranteed to not get a serious damage.

A fight against Golovkin would happen at 168-170 which would be easy to make for Hopkins. If HBO comes up with a good money, that fight would take precedence over Korobov/Lemieux/etc.
